This could have contributed to his spontaneous decision of commiting his crime.
We think that his sentence should be lowered to 20 - life + rehabilitation.

Our arguments:
He has been unstable his whole life because of poor childhood, which probably made his decision making skills worse.His wife is also to blame, she was the one to cheat.  Our arguments:
 -He is not unstable, and there for can tolerate prison.
 -We would say that he could get out for good behavior after 20 years, but have to have some kind of psychological meeting weekly to get him back on track.
He is basically smarter than other people (IQ of 115) there for he can help in mates with school or just hard work to hold him occupied

We do think his past has influence on why he did what he did, but we don't think it has any influence on how he should be punished. We believe that murders who kill another person on purpose should pay with his own life.

Because he had no money as a kid his relationship to money is complicated, he had an urge to make more money so he never get reminded of how poor he was as a kid. Earnest has commited a dangerous crime which has but other people in danger. 
No matter his part in the crime and to avoid endangering society, he should have the same punishment as the person who physically killed an innocent man. 
Statistics shows that people with a criminal record have a higher chance to commit related crimes

He has killed, so he is likely to kill again. He is a danger to society, so he should be locked up in the institution, so he can never hurt anyone on the outside again.

Therefore it would make sense to have him undergo therapy or offer him help in  a way that is fit.
Thereafter any futher steps can be taken. 
It is our responsibility as a country to help those in need rather that punish them.
