Getting with my Boyfriend - June

Towards the end of my freshman year, I started talking to him on Instagram. We got to know each other and realized we had a lot in common. I always enjoyed texting him and would stay up late to talk. Once school ended, we tried to plan a day to hang out. I was very excited, but nervous about hanging out, especially since it was just going to be the two of us. We settled on going to the Brea Mall and set the time to arrive. We discussed where we would meet up and decided to meet in front of Hollister. I arrived at the mall a few minutes late, walked around to find the store, found it, and saw he wasn't there either. It turns out we were both late. I stood in front of the store waiting, when he suddenly jumped out from behind me and said hi. I remember when he said hi, he sounded so happy and friendly. He had the biggest smile, which made me smile. The first thing we did was eat breakfast bagels and drink boba. Then, we spent a few hours shopping. During these few hours, we were subtly flirting with each other. At first, I wasn't sure if it was because he liked me or if he was being really friendly, and I misinterpreted it. I knew for sure he liked me when he offered to hold my hand and stuck his hand out for me. We were about to walk into Urban Outfitters when he said he wanted to make it official and asked me to be his girlfriend! Now, we've been together for over six months, and he makes me incredibly happy.

Making the Volleyball Team - July

One of my top moments of 2025 was making the volleyball team. This moment was really important and memorable to me because the previous year, I also tried out for the team and didn't make it. Not only did being on the team give me a new experience I never had before, but it also introduced me to new people whom I get to call my friends. I always had the best times playing games alongside my teammates/friends and cheering for our JV and varsity teams after we finished our game. At our practices, I would have so much fun doing new drills and laughing with my teammates, coach, and student managers. I remember my teammates and I would stand behind our coach, mocking him as he would use hand gestures and body movements to try to correct someone's form. As fun as it was, there would be times when I would come home covered in bruises or sore, but it was worth it because not only did they help make me a better player, but it also gave me an excuse to not run as punishment. Something my team and I loved to do was take our coach's food whenever he would bring some to games or practice. We've taken his Chick-fil-a, boba, Arizonas, Starbucks, In-n-Out, and more. We've also had a few team bonding events. One of my favorites was when we had Korean BBQ and boba. I had so much fun during our season and made so many memories.

Went to my First Concert - November

In 2025, my sister and I went to our very first concert, which was for Sombr. We both love his music, and he's also like my comfort artist. On the day of the concert, we did our makeup, picked our outfits, and headed to the theater. We stood in line for about an hour before they let anyone in. By the time my sister and I made it in, the whole room was almost filled. We tried finding a spot that wasn't as crowded, but it wasn't that successful. Unfortunately, my sister and I chose a spot behind a tall family. My sister had a clear view since she wore heels, but I couldn't see over the family's dad. The only way I could see the stage was if I stood very crooked, with my whole body basically hanging over the railing. What made me slightly irritated was the fact that the dad wasn't paying attention to the concert; he was watching the baseball game, yet he wouldn't give up his spot for those who couldn't see. I was still happy to be there and tried to enjoy the concert. The opener for Sombr was Devon Gabriella. I hadn't heard of her, so this was my first time hearing her songs, and they were so good. Then Sombr came out and performed his first song, which was "I Wish I Knew How to Quit You." I had so much fun at the concert, singing at the top of my lungs. Everyone had a fun time singing his songs together. The concert lasted about two hours and ended around 11:30 pm. I think it was a good first concert experience. I enjoyed it and got to go through it all with my sister.

Hanging Out with my Family - December

One of my favorite moments of 2025 was when my family hung out. It was always complicated to spend time with family since everyone had different schedules, and we never saw each other often. Some of my cousins participate in many different extracurricular activities that take up some of their time. Whenever we all had free time, we would plan a day to go out and hang out. In December, since we were all on break, we planned to go to the Santa Anita Mall. We had so much fun shopping. We all bought some new clothes or beauty products. Another thing we all bought were different mystery figurines. We went into a store called Life4Cuts, which is a place where people go to take photobooth pictures, like the one I uploaded. Towards the end of the day, we all opened our blind boxes. All of my cousins like matcha, just like my sisters and I, so we found a little cafe that made different matcha snacks. After we ate, we headed outside to take some pictures. My cousin took our pictures with her digital camera. Everyone was having a good time and sharing lots of laughter. I was the first to have my picture taken, so my cousin used me to test out her camera settings. The pictures were too dark, so she asked my older sister and cousin to shine their flashlights at me. It was very funny because they started acting like paparazzi and shouting, "Light! Shine the light! More light!" After the pictures, we just talked with each other until one of my cousins had to leave. That day was really fun, and I'm happy we got the opportunity to see each other again.

The Beach - August

One of my top moments from 2025 was going to the beach with my family. Every summer, my family plans a day to go to the beach. This is one of my favorite moments from last year because I love going to the beach. I always help my little sister and baby cousin collect shells. Another thing I do is play volleyball with my two cousins, who also play volleyball, and my older sister. I love playing volleyball, but playing on sand is a lot harder than playing indoors. Something I struggled with was running on the sand. I felt like my legs were moving fast, but I was barely moving. The only thing I did while running for the ball was kick loads of sand everywhere and get my feet poked by shells. Regardless of the struggle, I enjoy playing with my family. When we went to the beach last year, we tried to catch sand crabs, but sadly we were unsuccessful. I came close to catching one, but a wave came and washed it away from my hands. After we were in the water for a little while, we were all feeling hungry, so my uncle started up the barbecue grill. He made some hot dogs, hamburgers, and kebab sticks. We also brought fruit and it was so refreshing and sweet. The food was so delicious! After we ate, we went back to the water for a little while and then we got ready to take some pictures. We all changed out of our wet clothes and into dry clothes. We went to a place with little people and took our pictures in front of the sunset. After we all took our pictures, we went home. I always enjoy going to the beach, it was really fun!
