You have to keep going, keep writing and churning out stories on a regular basis so people can carry it out. You're not working on one big project, but multiple smaller ones all at the same time. Serialized shows do have episodic parts to them but have more consecutive, story driven elements that bring it together. This tends to be more popular nowadays.
