1. poetry to me is about emotion and written thoughts from either the mind, heart, or both. i also believe it can just be for fun.

2. we use poetry as an outlet for our thoughts, a way of taking our interests and putting it down into words, and sometimes to just pass time.

3. i have written at least 4 poems i think, 3 of them were for my english class in freshman year, i had written each one with emotions and thoughts that i had/was feeling during those times, it had taken me at least a week to write each. the 4th poem i wrote on my own last year as a vent poem. i had felt very depressed and angry and i just wrote down whatever i had felt at that time and it only took me a day.

4. sad and thoughtless type of poems. ones that either have meaning, no meaning at all, or ones with too much meaning that they just come off as silly, like Shel Silberstein type of poems.

What I think when I think of poetry is a short story tolled in a different way. We use poetry to show meanings in a different style. I think I have.

1. When I think of poetry, I think of my city and all the power that poets hold in their words. My mentors always tell me that artists hold truth.
2. I think we use poetry to express our feelings and emotions about anything that impacts either us + our community + support systems + world.
3. I write a lot of songs, but because a lot of the people I love are poets, I have written a few poems before.
