1. Something I learned was how to use the action tools per student account. For example, the edit tool allows you to change reading level , the mask allows you to see what the child sees, and the key gives you password information and a parent email letter. 2. Something that I will use is the buttons on the right bar when searching books. I like how you can sort by reading level. 3. I am wondering how teachers are using this with guided reading? How are you bring ing Guided Reading Groups "together"?

1- I learned how to create "groups" , and also how to use the mask to see the student's view. I also didn't realize that the student had to click the final check mark or I can't see that they read the book.
2- Something I will use-- everything! I especially like that I can assign specific books to the students.
3- I am wondering if it's possible to assign a student more than one book at a time. I know they can have more than one assigned book; but I mean being able to click several books without having to go through the whole process of choosing the student, the level, due date and just one book each time.

- Second Video
1. Something I learned was how you can create digital lesson plans. 2. Something that I will use is the picture or the idea of doing guided reading in the classroom. I do wish they touched on this more in the video. I also think I will use Google Slides to make digital notes to share with students in the group. 3. Something I am still wondering is what the expectations are this year with guided reading? I am still struggling to bring together small groups/pull 1-2 kids per group on hybrid days.

I also wonder how the levels compare to Fountas and Pinnell's reading levels.

I really like how this imitates what we do in the classroom. 2. I will use everything! I would like to get started in the classroom now, so I can help my students navigate through the process on the app. I really like the lesson plans they provide for the books. 3. I wonder if there is a way to assign a book and due date to the whole group and not each individual student in the group.

I will use this resource as a way to do guided reading groups with kids, especially while they are learning at home.
3. I am so excited to use this resource. I wonder, though, what is the easiest way for kindergarteners to get logged in. Is there a way to save their username and password so they don't have to log in each time. It seems like it would be difficult for them to remember their google e-mail and password to get logged in each time. I could send it home it for parents to enter.

I enjoyed learning more about this tool. As a reading teacher, it was very informative to see what my students can be working in their classrooms with this tool. There are also so many resources on the Pioneer Valley website that I discovered. My take-away was how digital lessons should mimic our traditional guided reading structure virtually- and that is important to keep in mind. I have struggled with finding the best way to listen to my kids read on zoom. I like the idea of using a card with their name. I will try that. Cathy also suggested breakout rooms when she visited my room last week. I tried breakout rooms and they work very well for rereads/running records for the student I am working with, but I worry about what my other readers are doing while I am focusing on one student. It is a lot of responsibility for our young readers to keep going on their own. I think using both would be good to change it up. I love Literacy Footprints as an additional tool for assessing students and sprinkling in some additional books on our Friday hybrid days when my students are at home. I am wondering if there is a way to add books to their classroom accounts if it is a book we have worked on in our reading group or if there is a way to share what book we have worked on with their classroom teacher to possibly add to their own virtual bag of books or bookshelf. I am excited to learn more!

(Hybrid Teaching Video) I learned how to think more flexibly when supporting students in Hybrid mode. I am thinking about doing more writing about reading on Zoom and I like the idea of using Google Slides to help construct a message together as a group. I am thinking of using post it notes (we have some of the book titles) with some of my 2nd graders to find evidence when we are together at school and then building on that to do some writing about reading the next day via Zoom. We could use the annotate tool to share our thinking together and mark up the page finding the evidence. I think using post it notes to write down key words to plan the writing would be very helpful and then I could show the index on my screen and we could circle the key words the kids chose to use. I will give them time to think about what they want to write and then let students take turns sharing their thinking.

I also want to try and make some videos doing some book introductions or possibly guided writing.

I learned about how to better facilitate online reading groups and how to set lessons up for asynchronous lessons. I want to incorporate their ideas of using Google Slides to guide lessons and try recording some lessons for the kids who are not making it to reading groups. I am wondering how to ensure accountability for those students who aren't making it to reading group or coming to 1:1 Zoom meetings.

1) I love being able to make groups and assign different books to them!
2) I'm looking forward to using the letter tracing guide with my students who are struggling! Also, if we have to go back into elearning, this is good to see as an example.
3) I wonder how are Kindergarteners logging into this? Is there an easier way - maybe a QR code?

I plan on using this as a tool for students to continue structured and purposeful reading at home during our season of hybrid learning. I wonder if we will be able to continue using this amazing resource in the future....even when life hopefully returns to normal.

I am excited to get started on this. I think the ability to put the students into groups will be very beneficial. I am thinking that this would be great to use for Home learning days and then I could check in on the small groups that I have assigned a book. I am wondering if there are high interest books for fourth graders.

This was a wonderful presentation. It was very informative. I learned how to add a student and how to make a group to work with on Pioneer Valley. I don't have access to Pioneer Valley as a Reading Support teacher but I wanted to be familiar with it as it is what teachers will be using and in the event that I might get to use it someday. I would love to use this resource for my reading support groups. I wonder if reading support teachers might be able to use this. I also wonder if we will be able to continue using this resource in the future as a district.

I learned how to create groups for kindergarteners, and learned how I can assign books for each group to access. I plan to use this to incorporate and facilitate guided reading groups within the classroom in Hybrid. This will be a great tool to keep consistent even if the need to transition to elearning arises again. I wonder if there could be an easier or quicker way for kindergarteners to log in to this and if they will have uninterrupted access at home.

I am excited about using Pioneer Valley! I have created student groups and I have assigned different books to different groups of students. I like the books with the lesson introduction, word study, and guided writing already created. These books are ready and can be used and assigned to students. These videos can also be the model, they mentioned, for how to do this when I am doing a group. I wonder about when the students are reading the assigned book on their device, how do we still see the students in Zoom? How do they still see me as the teacher if I am holding up a name card or an all card. I like the idea of using cards to have a check in with one student at a time while the other students have the volume down so that they can remain engaged with the book until it is their turn to talk with the teacher.
