Students can benefit from these situations because they can watch their fellow students go through the work and see what solutions they had. An example is Round Robin where students have a category and go around and name something from that category.

It is important to model behavior and other things for students to fully understand what is expected. It is easy to forget that students might not know the proper procedures, therefore it is important to address them as soon as possible. Student will have a better learning environment to grow in.

This strategy might help students obtain a more concrete idea of what the topic is about by seeing objects and not needing to imagine it in their heads. For example, when doing a lesson on clocks a teacher might give students their own clocks to work with throughout the lesson.

Vocabulary Role-Play focuses on acting out vocabulary words. Asking students to show portray the word instead of just saying it. The movement of their body can help them remember the word. Giving students this opportunity will help them memorize the word better. For example, if the new vocab word is jumped the student might remember the word better by performing the action of jumping.

Modeled talk focuses on demonstrating verbally and physically what you want the students to do. Modeled talk will help students hear and understand how words should be spoken before trying themselves. I would utilize this strategy in the classroom by reading a book in front of the class. Doing a read aloud can allow students to listen and understand the words correctly. Reading aloud the book then having students read aloud in groups to reinforce.

Graphic Organizers help students brainstorm new ideas and gather a better understanding of vocabulary by showing the words in a more organized and visual format. Students can benefit from using graphic organizers because they also ensure students are comprehending the information.

TPR focuses on a students first language acquisition, Following the natural process that it provides. The students become physical and repeat the teachers movements, but eventually the teacher will stop doing the movements with students and instead return to verbal communication and students will automatically do those movements based off of they way it has been before. This is a helpful way to actually watch students minds at work. You can easily help when students are struggle because you will see it visually.

Story reenactment focuses on students acting out a story that they have read or heard. In order to encourage students props can additionally be used to further the student's performance. The purpose of this strategy is to deepen students comprehension. You read students the book the Polar Express and then ask student what prop they think they might need to tell the story on their own. After they decide on props students will retell the story and better understand the content because not only have they retold the story, but they have shown that they comprehended the story deeply enough to retell it with props.

Close reading focuses on rereading the text with purpose. The specific purpose is what the author was meaning by the content. Close reading focuses on exactly what the author meant in the text. This helps student understand things as they were meant, not a lose understanding of the text, but a concrete understanding. I would use this in my classroom by having students read a biography together as a class. After each page we would pause for discussion and talk about new vocabulary and words students might not understand.

Syntax Surgery has to do with showing students the relationship of elements within a sentence, that they might not understand on their own. Students would write a sentence on a piece of paper and then cut the word out that is not correct and figure out what would best go in it's place. This helps students think back a remember the rules of syntax in order to place the correct word and remove the incorrect word. I would start students off in groups of 2 and then move toward students working alone on the answers.

I could this by taking a book from ALL and a book from Standard English and compare differences.
