Perspectives: More people are being cruel to animals as they perceive that there are no consequences and the animals do not feel the pain when they do. I do not agree as the animals also have feelings and they should be treated properly.

My perspective
I see this as a warning sign for Singapore: a fertility rate of 0.97 is unsustainably low, meaning long-term demographic and economic stress (older population, fewer workers). Immigration can help, but cannot fully substitute for having enough young people born locally. The government needs bold, effective policies to encourage child-bearing (housing, childcare, work–life balance) rather than relying too heavily on migration.
