My Honors English teacher would give us essays to do. Everyone in that class had already had experience with essays, but i was new to honors that year so my experience was low when it came to essays. She made us do one and obviously my first essay didn't get the best score, so i kept trying. Then came another essay to do. I tried really hard, and when she had graded them she returned the essays. When I looked at my paper I got 95% I was really proud of myself feeling confident.

This relates to my theme because it shows that even if my score was low and my thinking was not the best. I still put effort into it. I tried to process everything and get the best out of it.

My mom never really went to school so she doesn't really know anything about math, writing etc. Until she decided to go to school, not actual school but Cosmetology School. So that would mean that she would cut hair, do nails, makeup, that sorta thing. But that consisted of knowing how to read, write, and spell. She started practicing at home and asked for help from my older sister and me. We helped out somewhat but not always if I'm being honest. She ended up learning herself which was impressing because she usually would have stopped trying because she doubted herself so much but she dint this time. Now she reads everyday

This relates to my theme because it shows that even if my mom didn't go to school. She still tried and now she knows more than before, and that's all because she didn't give up.

One day my sister and I had just came back from my 1st communion. We were hungry so we decided to go to McDonald's for some food. We got into the Drive thru and we've been waiting for a long time like always. Then we see a car that was trying to cut the line and get in front of us. We did not let that happen because we had waited longer than him and just tried to cut. So the driver kept trying to get in front of us, so my sister kept going forward until they both hit each others cars. The guy got out of the car and started yelling at her and she did the same. He knew he was wrong but didn't care and added to the argument. My sister then started proving him wrong pointing out what he did wrong. But the driver still kept trying to argue until my sister brought the police and asked for his insurance. Then thats when he stopped and just stood there with no response knowing that he just got proven wrong.

This relates to my theme because it shows that my sister didn't give up on proving him wrong. As she stated facts that he knew were right, so whenever you know that you are correct and someone starts arguing with you don't make the situation worse but prove them wrong.
