Pets offer companionship, emotional support, physical activity, and even social connection. But behind every happy pet-owner photo lies a deeper story. Caring for an animal is a long-term commitment that comes with responsibilities, sacrifices, and challenges.

Animal welfare also goes beyond pet ownership; abandonment, animal cruelty or strays are very real issues in Singapore too.

In your design thinking based VIA project, your goal is to go beyond the surface. What’s it really like to care for a pet every day? What worries or struggles do pet owners face? What keeps them going, and what kind of support might they wish they had?

• Many owners struggle with feeding schedules when they are at work or busy.

• Some pets feel lonely or anxious when left alone.

• Owners worry if their pets are fed properly or eating enough.

• They want better ways to monitor and interact with pets even when not home.

Some pet owners are busy with school or work and can’t always feed their pets on time. Pets may also feel lonely when their owners are not home. Because of this, pets might not eat properly or feel cared for.

Problem statement:

“How can we help pet owners make sure their pets are fed and feel less lonely even when they are not at home?”

1)owners dont have time to take care of their pets due to work or studies and therefore leads to pets having depression.

2)due to owners leaving doors open ,the dogs would run away from and be really hard to find them.

3)while pet owners are away from home some things may happen to the dog for example,strokes,seizures or heatattacks.pet owners might not know and cant call the vet in time.

2) Some pet owners are worried that their pets would run away from home because they do not feel safe

3) When owners go on vacation, it is difficult for owners to find pet sitters to take care of their pets while they are gone and the owners are worried that there wont be enough food.
