Today was very fun to see the result about our collection and see that we can do a really good job in short time! 
On friday we had a good class about criticism and today was good to exercise what we learned. For me was a little difficult to criticize the others collection on a first time but after I started to thinking that that could help to each person  improve then projects!
For decided  my collection was a little bit difficult because I wanted something real, like objects but that they had a historys because I'm someone that love listen and telling histories, but in the first moment I didn't think in something like this, so I started to thinking that our histories are lines, some shorts and some longs and that exist persons that read our histories by our hand's lines so I decided to collect hands because indeed this part of the body talk a lot about us and what we do.

Today we needed to made drawings about your collection with different materials, so in my first draw I didn’t thought a lot to do, I just got a coal and started to draw what I saw in my collection, so was a free style, nothing with rule or straight when I was finished I thought was nice but not wow you now so I decided to put a colours and a frase that represent a lot my collection that is “Not only hands but also histories” with ink drops. 
With that frase I started to do the others draws but in another way, how I thought in lines and how this talk about us I wanted to do something with this, so I took six diferents persons and printed they hands with white ink in a black paper to see the clearly the lines that had in each hand, with this print I made the others copying the lines in a big size because in the same way that is just lines togethers it is too the identity of someone, a big history of someone that I don't know who it is and you don't know whot it is but is there and it will always be.  when I fineshed missing yet 5 minutes to deadline so I decided to do something different so I took some nail and cardboard and did one hand with those to represent this beauty mean that is our histories by lines!

In this third day of the project we learned that every datail is very important even the place that we will put our projects and how we  will displayed they!
Thinking in that I started to saw that the first way that I put my collection was not good, I don’t know why but I think that because every hands was together without means and the important details was not appearing! So I decided to put the hands in a line separated by skin colours but the construction didn’t had a power so I changed again for a circle separate too by skin colour and I saw that way the collection was more stronger and that collection that was in the wall won another face and became a new collection! And with that I really realized that every single detail its a big detail and matters a lot. 
And my inspiration to put in circle and organize what was a mess was the Martin Creed his work is something more clean and organize, he like to put the things from lowest to highest or vice versa and I think with all this clean was easier to see all the hands and so pay attention in each detail that have in each hand to imagine than a history about that detail !

First day of the Protest project and already took me out of my comfort zone! This project demand a lot of discussion and the put your opinions out for everyone, and this was something that I never liked to do, I don’t know it is because I don’t know how to argument my opinion or because I don’t like to hit head-on with the people and start what always happend: an unhealthy discussion! But today When the tutors started to talking about that they Artist’s that made some difference in the world by their “hit head-on” and for expose your thoughts and choices, something change inside me wanting make that difference too and talke about what have inside of me  independet of the people. My difficult was in choose some words ro thinking about it but I know what burn in my side and what I want to talk with the others so I took words that represent my personal life and what I want to do in my future!

Second day of the project and we started to saw how the types are important and represente a lot about one project because they should represent what we want to protest!
So to building my type for the protest I started to thinking in something power, and something power is big, is strong so with diss I decided how was my letter, something but with corners more like a circle because my frase need this.
What was more difficult was to think in how I’ll represent what I want to say in a style, so in the first moment I was lost and confused but when I founded my own style I loved! 
I used india ink and my cut lettering to do the frase mor unfilled to represent that womens are very tired for this fight and I just get it because Leo helps me a lot with his critics and suggestions!

Today was the final day of the Protest project, and was so good to see a lot of things that people bring to discuss and what each one think and really want to talk to everyone, and that’s so nice, that’s diversity of opinions and themes that we need to reflect and try to open our mind to change something that needs to be changed! 
Some posters don’t be clearly but I think that everybody was successful in each choose, and the difficulty that I had today was made a critics I’m still getting used but I try my hard and I wrote to some projects and thats nice because is helping me to watching with another eye to everyone and everything a more observant look!

Today in the morning we learned more about research and how this process is very important for each project’s process because analyzing and turn the stuff what you are searching clothing to yourself.
And after lunch we started discuss about why everyday do a reflective jounal, and we learned that this is crucial we started to asking for ourself more the WHY’s of things 
that's workshop was really great for me because I'm was just doing this both things because someone told me to do but now I do knowing the importance that this have to my works and the right way that I need to do, the right way that I need asking my self and how. So i need give more details about the things and not like keep secrets about what I'm doing, how i'm doing, witch materials I'm using and others things that is really important to your reflective moment, and with those informations I hope be better in my nexts reflectives journals.

Today was a busy day when we sketched a lot of ideas to make a device to put in our camaras where we can use a lot of diferentes filters is this device to produce diferentes types of photos! 
In the first moment I just have 3 ideas that for me whas very good and could works very well and i decided to use my cell phone’s camara, so the first idea was with a cone and a elastic to fit and hold in my phone and the seconde one was liked the same but with a little boxe because I thought that the cone was very big and thick and the elastic it was bothering me so I started to thinking in anothers ideas more simples that could work to, so the third Idea was a box with a cut in the side to fit in the phone and with a cut on top to put the filters, but when I started to make didn’t works because I think I needed to made bigger and just with on cut in right side because didn’t fit well. Thinking more I decided to back to the cone but with the third idea with a crease to put directly in my phone and with two cut in the sides to put the filters. That’s one works very well I really liked the final results was very practice with just one material and it was easy to handle!

The problems that they gave to us was to change completely 5 images with differents methods. The first change was adding something on the photo, and for this I choose a church's photo because I love churchs, I'm Christian since child and I'm in the church every sunday so I choose this images because I think that I have a connection With this even if the church that was on the photo was a catholic's church and  for this reason I started to Thinking in colours to represent that's conection and change the photo to turn more happy because the image was a little bit kreep and people Thinks that churchs was scared so I decided to embroider, in my sketch I wanted to did flower but the photo was very thick and the curve that had to do to appear a flower does not leave because the paper could not stand and it rasks so I just skirted some areas of the church with colors that left the photo looking lighter and happier.  The second one was the opposite, to subtract something on the photo, for this I didn't thought a lot a just choose one photo that have some big face, and this photo was a baby's photo at the beach and I wanted to burned something but I didn't wanted to burn a baby but I started to thinking about ours identantys and that ours faces is ours ids and without this we aren't recognized and that one day that face that is so important will be forgeted and maybe that baby that today was not more a baby, even a human is no longer remembered by anyone, so I decided to burn his face for ask the question: how important is our faces if some day they will be forgeted?
 The third was to put two differents photos togethers in that point I was very tired and without creativity so I just sewed it one photos piece in another photo without criteria and logic and that was one problem that I had if I had more time to think some greats ideas could be appear and so I could making something more interesting. The forth was to cut and I loved Justine Kahamara works so I made something inspired in her with a image that was a landscap in a street with car and I cut each row vertically at five centimeters and gave life to the photo, it seemed like it was moving, I liked it a lot. And the fifth on we needed to combining two types that we did in the previous ones, this one did not give time to finish in the room so I finished at home and I added a type of finer wool in the photo that I chose that had a sofa and I bordered a detail. we are still working on activities related to our collection. Today we worked with different printing, first my group worked with dry point that is something very interisting and not to hard to do, in both experience we use a transparent plate, and for this one we did I draw with something pointed and after we pass the special ink (off set) in this plate and made a pressure in a paper and it's done! My draw was studies of hand movements, I did try to wrote that frase "Not only hands but also histories" but I wrote wrong because I needed to wrote reversed since this impression is mirrored so I did cut this part that was written but looks like that something really did wrong, and I didn't that result, I wanted something different that appeared purposeful so I did cut all the transparent plate around looking like something broken, forgotten, another story that was waiting to be told.
The second part we use tha transparent plate to do something like carbon paper so we paint this plat with some ink and with journal paper over it we could draw whaterver we want with different materials, like pen, chalk, or other things. In the first time I tried to do a stencil of a hand but did wrong, I didn't like the result because some parts they did not leave, and others spotted then in the end what was meant to be a hand was looking like a blur black paint. today, the last day of the project was still productive because in the morning we were still finishing a stage that was a 3d photo, we did not have so much time to do it but the proposal was not so complicated to leave one of the 60 photos we took in 3d.To fulfill the proposal I thought of a job that I had previously done outside of EBAC to do the representation of a photo in 3 layers that was something very similar to that of Lucas Simões, but obviously his was much more complicated and with more layers than what I had done. so along that line of reasoning I thought I make several layers of the same photo but put them hanging somewhere (with nylon thread because it's transparent then the focus will be on the photo), layer in front of layer on which the person who had looked forward could see the image jumped but when moving to the side the image would already be another.

I was very nervous to this day because was my first progresse tutorial but Cezar helps me with some tips to be better in my projects and in my Padlet that was the most problem because until today I didn’t make a glue whats thr right way to make the research file, my research was very confused and with information that was not necessary, I need to put more images and tbe WHY I choose the same and how this will influence my peojects! the rest he said I needed to improve on the finishing of some of my works but my sketchbook was good. Today we went to Dado, where we learned a little more about the creative economy and about the administration of galleries and their innovations in this field. was very cool because since I joined the art world I wanted to open a gallery and today it was important to really know how this world works and that today there are some innovations to benefit both gallery owners and artists, saving some expenses that small galleries could not have. And knowing that there are different platforms that artists can use to exhibit their work was very interesting, in particular I loved the work of aarea.com where many artists who do not work with the internet are challenged to do works for this area, but the most interesting of all this is that a lot of the works that are exhibited there, one artist at a time, are ephemeral, and this ephemerality works with some metaphors that nothing lasts forever, and it was what I liked the most.
In the afternoon we went back to EBAC and we talked a bit about the world of animation and illustration, which today is already a well explored area, is an impressive art, bring reality to the virtual, give life to characters, this is all fantastic, and Talking today with people who are already working in the aera was very interesting, although I do not care much for the area I thought it was important to know more about such professions and clarify many things for those who are still in doubt what to do.

Today in the morning we made an activity called 30 ideas in 30 minuets where we did draw or just write ideas for this new project, and for this we had one minute for each idea!
I had some ideas in my mind when the activity started was a good idea basically all then, maybe 4 likediversity of Brazilian culture,diferentes types of women’s bodies, what not said to a girl, different types of flowers. Was just related about women and diversity that is a subject that I like to talk, but after this my idea started to finished so I just write words that came in my mind but nothing brilliant or cool. When whe finished we made groups of 4 and put our ideas on the floor to discuss and create more ideas, when my group started to talked about we saw that we had some ideas similar, like my idea to talk about types of bodys and my friend about breast diferentes types and I like this and put together to my idea to add and made something bigger and shocking! 
With this activity I choose the idea of the bodies where I will talk about the types of women’s bodies and how that is so funny, and there should be no taboos about it. I wanna do for this work illustration zine and I like Lesja Chernish style because it is something lighter and not to much realistic and it is something like that that I wanted and I started to thinking that Wanted too something different and I went to library to research about zines and formats and I choose to do a rool but inside a diferentes breast’s boxes that I’m already decided how I will do this boxes that will be the best part of the project with the illustration, but I need to be something hard that will give a good finish.

Was productive day where I had more 3 ideas about HOW I will do the zine but Cezar held me a little bit because I was jumped steps because today was for whe discusse more about WHAT of our ideas and WHY, and with this started to create something visual, deciding de colors the narrative and the style not thinking in the end but freaking out in a lot of ideas!
When I understood what to do I started to write why I wanna talke about that theme and the reason is because all girls feel or felt that have something wrong with their body because is not too long or too tall or too thin, and this is horrible because we nedd change that image that the labels built and show that our diversity, our differences and our abnormalities it is NORMAL and is BEAUTY! So that’s why I wanted talke about this subject. 
Afeter this I started to thinks more about this diversity and differentes bodies and what it is real not fake or tax to us to be real, so I made a list with some things: cellulite,scars,mustaches, hair in the armpits, hair on toes, sweat, separated breasts,big breasts, little buttocks, thin legs, belly fat, crooked feet. 
And related with those topics I thought in situations that just girls understand for example, when we use jeans we don’t need to shave but when we use something like pantacourt ( is a style of short pants) we just shave the part that will appear the shins or when we wear torn pants we just shave where it's going to be showing. Critics and print
The day today was more was more theoretical than productive, the room was separated into two groups, the first was to have a workshop with Marcelo on how to make serigraphy and the second was in the studio for criticism! in the morning I stayed in the group of critics, we made a wheel and each one spoke a little of his project, some people including me already had ideas ready and Cezar said that this was bad for what stage we were because it was the stage of going crazy with lots of ideas and only then delve into one! but finally, when it came to my turn I talked about my project, about the diversity of the female body breaking all the stereotypes that the labels formed with situations that all women have passed or spend in their lives with their bodies. what I was uncomfortable was that those who stayed last did not receive so many feedbacks and also can not talk much because of the time, as opposed to who started talking first, and I find this a bit unfair and that tutors should know how to use the timd with more wisdom and equality.
In the afternoon we learned the steps to make a seregraphy:
First - emulsify
Second - wait to dry
Third - put the photolito to record on the UV machine
Forth - wait to dry
Fifth - ready to use ink
We didn’t do anything, we just learned today but was good, and even I will not use this technique in this project was really interesting to know to
Other project!

was very productive day where we just have time to work in our project without classes. So for I don’t lose my mind and my short time I made a schedule with steps that what I should do in order for organized my day and finish my things on time!
So I started cutting a piece of pipe  that I founded in EBAC with a hacksaw.I used the pipe because it’s width was small and ideal for me to make the reel where the zine will stay. After this I shaved those piece of pipe to remove all rough wire from the cut and to get a good finish. With this finished I cut circles in a thick paper that I will put on bottom an on the top of the cut pipes to make a reel. I started the day very lost and confused because in the weekend when I continued to do the boxes I founded a  big problem “ when the people  pull the paper to read the history, how they will put the paper in the beginning again?” I broke my mind thinking about it and find a solution, so I drilled the top and bottom of the pipe that was zine and put a straw to the person to turn and be able to return to the place, thinking that one of the parts of the straw would stay out of the top cover for this to happen then it would the nipple. That’s works, actually this works but the finished was not good and I did not have time to do this idea works with a good finish in 5 version so I changed completely my project!
Monique today help us showing differences types of building books and have some one that she show us that was eay and simple, that was the “Leque” model wher you just cut the papers narrowly, I cuted 7x24 cm, and after you make a roll where you want to put the stuff that will be hold all the pages. When I decides this I cutted thick paper to be the case and the back cover of the zine and what was inside was very simple. But when I finished I saw that I cam did something more interesting so I painted al the cases and the back cober im diferentes skin color to represent the diversity and after this I made a draw with different types of bodies with different datails that made us special,in a vegetable paper with the posca to record the screen and print on top of these papers. I managed to finish doing all this at 18 and, just the cases and I back to my home because I thought us that my home give me more concentrated that If I was there. The day today was so long and I thought that would never and. I arrived at EBAC  at 7:30am to get things done in my project, then when I arrived straight to the printing room to cut the rest of the papers that were missing in order to complete 20 copies and to cut the thicker paper into the front and back cover, Marcelo helps me because when I was cutting de papers the centimeters was not right so he helps me a lot! When I finish this step I make the screen printing: so for prepare the screen printing first if you bought a canvas, like my case, you need to clen with soup, and after, you need emulsified for recording, after emulsifying and drying you put your matrix on the screen and put it on the machine that will record with UV light! after the screen is recorded, clean and dry the print may already start to serigraph, but when I started apperead some problems because my line was very thin and the plot could be bigger than it should then began to leak ink from the paper, this was the major problems in practicing all copies but in the end everything was working and I managed to make 14 copies, in my mind I wanted 20 but I gave up later, because this is already a high number and as they only asked 5 I'm at an advantage! I finished it all 21:39 pm and tomorrow a I’ll just find a stuff that monique sad me to put to fix all the papers. Today in the morning Michael explain to us in the 30 minutes from class about the week 10 that will be our assessment and the week 11 that will be the research week, after this we did back to our projects to finish! In that time I went to a store that Monique passed me the adress to buy the stuff to fix the zine and the thing that call “vazador” to pierce. When I bought everything I’m back to EBAC and I started to pierce all the papers in the left corner because when the people take to learn, this side was easier to change the paper then the right side! Some papers I cutted very near to the corner so the roll ripped the sheets so I needed to discard this versions and now I just have 10 but, is 10 that is perfect with a good finish, I really proud of my self because I finish everything on time and with a good finish, and thats the moste importante!

About critique:

Natalia critique my project and she said that I was able to use the chosen technique (serigraphy) to make my work more interesting and complete, it was a successful job but she thinks there was a lack of color, that inside could have more colors and I could have explored more this area, and I agree with that, I think inside it was very white and could have more colors, even thought about coloring with the COPIC pen but I thought it would be strange the mixture of these two elements, the serigraphic and color of the pen!
about the format she said it is versatile and easy to get and fits anywhere, which is true, at the beginning was not so much in this versatility because I was going to make a round box, but that format was the one that most combined with the illustrations of the female bodies on the cover, so it was an ideal size to makeI agreed with what I did all about the prices I left a little more expensive, and I did a little more than a convention that really was a fair price, and I also concur about the fact that I got to spend what I really wanted, clearly and reaching who should be, women. but I do not agree that she said that my scketch looks like I did after work because I thought it over before I realized it but my ideas are very well organized work even more interesting! ]]> 2018-04-20 17:46:51 UTC https://padlet.com/yasmin_silva/pbbxxdxt7hcy/wish/253937579
