FREEDOM of RELIGION: The Right to Choose

No matter what or who you believe in... the First Amendment says it's OK. Americans can choose to believe or choose not to believe in religion and no one can do anything about it. It is our RIGHT to CHOOSE. Religion is a very personal matter and no one, especially goverenments, should dictate something so personnal.

FREEDOM of PRESS: Sometimes, Less Press is Best.

In most cases, the first amendment provides grandiose coverage with respect to protection of the written word. However, during high profile jury cases, the press is limited in their rights so that the accused can get a fair trial. They just need some patience as once the trial is completed they can write to their hearts content.

FREEDOM to ASSEMBLE: NO MONEY, NO CARS!

The first Amendment protects the right to assemble peacefully and the right to form and join organizations. The first Amendment gets tricky when it comes to labor disputes. On one hand picketing is a form of symbolic speech and assembly, however on the other hand these picketers can stand in the way of a business by persuading customers from using a product.

The First Amendment - It's #1 for a Reason

This country was founded on the basic premise of FREEDOM. The first amendment embodies all types of freedom; Freedom of the Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Press. It allows us to petition our government and assemble for unjust causes. It is at the core of what makes this country so awesome. People have different opinions and different ideas and should not be afraid to express them. We should be able to choose who and what we believe in religiously. When we disagree with something or believe someone is being harmed in an unfair way, like discrimination, Americans can stand up and be heard without fear of being persecuted. The first amendment is the most important because of the fact that it makes you be able to express yourself and be your own person.

FREEDOM of SPEECH: I DON'T AGREE!

As ridiculous as this seems, Americans can burn the American flag as a symbol of their displeasure with the government and not be persecuted for it. As part of their First Amendment Right, they have the Right to disagree with government and express that disagreement as long as they do not put anyone in harm's way.

FREE TO PETITION: CAN I GET A SIGNATURE???

Freedom to Petition guarantees the right to petition the government and express our ideas to the government without fear. If we disagree with an issue, Americans can get together and decide to make their voice heard in numbers.
