She writes, “ People in the United States do so, on average. 1.65 times a day”(Garber). This quote shows that lying is a normal thing. Not just humans do so. This interests me because I am a human I have lied before just like everyone else, The essay by Megan Garber led me to understand why we do so and how much humans lie.

This is clear to the reader when Stephen King writes, “When we pay [to see a horror film]...we are daring the nightmare. Why?...to show that we can, that we are not afraid, that we can ride this rollercoaster” (King). This clearly explains why humans behave so abstractly. When the author talks about daring the horror movie it is instantly relatable and can be the reason why most people watch horror movies. In the end Stephen King explain s how humans behave by using horror movies as an example.

This is clear to the reader when Stephen King writes, “When as children, we hug our rotten little puke of a sister and give her a kiss, all the aunts and uncles smile and twit and cry, “isn’t he the sweetest little thing?” Such coveted treats like chocolate covered graham crackers follow, but if we deliberately slam the rotten little puke of a sister’s fingers in the door, sanctions follow” (King). This is explaining why we like to go to these movies, because it’s like doing a bad thing without punishment, and without getting yelled at by parents or others, and rather just moving on and feeling like you did or witnessed a bad thing.

I am lucky.” (Alexie). In this quote he is trying to prove that he didn’t use to be just a little kid who doesn’t know a much, but that he learned and that he is independent. And when he says this he is also trying to encourage the kids that they can be whomever they want to be when they grow up. He’s teaching them to learn just like he did. And to not let others convince them into thinking that they are someone who they are not.
