It can be good if someone is released at the beginning or end or a life. This is positive because it celebrates new beginnings or celebrating a full lived life. It can be negative when it is in the middle of the life as a punishment. You don't eat the core and seeds of an apple, and you don't keep the bad criminals in a perfect society. The seeds of an apple also represent the growth and new life. This represents new life because the seeds of an apple grow new apples, and the seeds of those apples grow even more apples.
