A chamber pot was a portable toilet. Once these were filled they would be dumped out into the street. With this the push for indoor plumbing started. The factories themselves were dangerous. Many workers had to work 12 hours for six days. The workers wouldn't get days off or vacation days. Not only did adults work but so did young children. This was called child labor.
