These few individuals are the reasons for any of the strange and weird anomalies that cannot be explained to this day. Any strange visions or premonitions (ESP) were sent from these beings, either as a warning or a practical joke. Atlantis (its them), pyramids of Egypt (time travel given to them by their powers), how about the Bermuda triangle? Yes, that's where their islands are located. Santa? That's the one thing that's not them, sadly. But you never know...
EDIT: They also were the ones who controlled the beavers, and turned them against the settlers. They created the strange mutant beavers, the vampire beavers, the were-beaver, even the zombie beavers.
EDIT: The funky space alien beavers are their leaders, the true perfect beings.
EDIT: The strange colonists with strange powers who took over the other settlers are some of the heightened settlers in human form, a choice that is irreversible.
EDIT: The Heightened settlers were the people to create coca plants, although they didn't think that it would be such a hit.
EDIT: The only proof of the strange beavers are in area 51 though. Only a few have escaped into the world...
EDIT: The settlers were the ones to change the beavers into the mole people that lived under Jamestown.

The natives needed to take prisoners in order to make the funky space alien beavers  go away. The natives would give the colonists they took to the funky space alien beavers who would make them have to dance to disco music until they died of exhaustion. This is why the natives started a war they could win, to force colonists to dance to disco till they die.
