<title>Designing Engaging Learning Experiences that Supports Physical, Emotional, Social and Cognitive Development. In order to design engaging learning experiences that support physical, emotional, social and cognitive developments, it is important to take a holistic approach and consider each child as a unique individual with different needs. The idea should not be to teach a basic subject, but to redefine the way a student is taught. For instance, incorporating project based learning and interactive methods, game based learning and sensorial learning, where children can explore real world problems and challenges on a whole. A holistic approach develops better communication and social skills and will encourage children to make connections in a subject using creative skills as well as develop psychological, social and emotional growth. Making learning natural and engaging will motivate children to learn more and make learning a fun and meaningful experience.PlayPlay is important for a healthy brain development. It is through play that children at a very early age engage and interact with the world around them. Play is what pulls together the logical and creative parts of the brain. For young children, play is often a full body activity that helps them develop skills they will need later in life. So, running, dancing, climbing, rolling, etc. (outdoor play) and/or imaginative play, story-telling, puzzles, songs and rhymes and any comprehensive engagement activities, (indoor play), are all activities that foster muscle development, help fine tune motor skills and develops cognitive skills. Opportunities for uninterrupted indoor and outdoor play as well as student initiated experiences:1)	Unconstructed Play Method = free and open ended play scenarios, (ex: doll house) – only observation and anecdotes can be taken, no progression can be monitored.2)	Structured Play Method = play that has clear rules, (ex: organized sports) – along with observation and anecdotes, progression can also be monitored.3)	Parallel Play Method = shared space with peers, without interaction, (ex: puzzles, or two children playing with blocks, but not talking with each other)4)	Associative Play Method = shared space with peers with interaction, (ex: seesaw) 5)	Cooperative Play Method = sharing not only resources, but collaborating in game play and play objectives (ex: treasure hunt, tag)6)	Imaginative Play Method = children enacting fantasies, (ex: socio-dramatic play) – develops creative thinking skills which can assist with problem solving 7)	Domestic Role Play Method = mimicking every day task of adults, (ex: cooking, gardening, shopping, cleaning, etc.)8)	Digital Play Method = play through technology, solo or in groups, educative or non-educative, (ex: video games)9)	Oral Language Play Method = play designed to help children with their language and communication skills (ex: circle time, story time, etc.)Through these different learning experiences of play, we can provide authentic opportunities for children to develop and demonstrate the following attributes of the learner profile such as: -	open mindedness,-	communicators,-	risk takers, -	caring, -	well balanced, -	principled,-	enthusiastic, etc. </title>
