Jalil Rouchon

I think being a pioneer by traveling by wagon trains is the most challenging experience between building a railroad and being a homesteader. In the text, it was a long hard journey because it was a 2,000 mile journey of dust storms and bumpy trails. Also, there was small wagons in the wagon trains and there was 800 pioneers on the trip. Additionally, there was 5,000 cattle all that to fit in 120 wagons. Then, there was bad weather which made crops die. Given these facts, I think being a pioneer by traveling by wagon trains was the hardest experience between building a railroad and being a homesteader.

I think that “Homesteading “was the most challenging. Since there was very little rain there soil was dry. Also that they had very bad weather conditions and made the crops die. Finally there was little wood so they used buffalo chips. Therefore that what I think is the most challenging.

I think that “Traveling by Wagon Trains” was the most challenging. For example, the pioneers had a long journey over 2,000 miles of desert. Also, the wagons were small and there was over 800 pioneers to fit in the small wagons. In fact, there were 5,000 cattle and only 120 wagons for them. This is why I think “Traveling by Wagon Trains” was the most challenging.

For example, building the railroad was backbreaking work. Also, it was very hard to because the pioneers had to work in the rain, snow, heat, and the cold and it took a very long time to build the railroad. The pioneers worked day and night on the railroad. In conclusion, the building the railroad was very hard and possibly stressful for the pioneers.
