  • "Song of Innocence": It's a collection of poems. The themes  are innocence, the joy of nature and infancy.
  • "Song of Experience": He says that innocence is corrupted and destroyed by human experience, a man can't be a child forever.
    • The two collections are meant to contrast whit the other.

  • "Lyrical Ballads": The themes is the return to the state of nature, in where humans leads a pure and innocent existence, as opposed to the human existence now corrupted by civilization. 
  • "The Prelude": Is an autobiographical poem wrote in blank verse. It reveals many details of his life. He never gave it a real title.
  • "The Excursus": Was intended to be the Second part of "The Recluse", a work that Wordsworth never finished. The Recluse was alzo meant to include The Prelude.

    According to the legend this poem was written after an opium induced vision he had after riding a work describing Xanadu.

    The poem in its  original  form was written to Sara Hutchinson a woman who was not his wife. the various versions of the poem describe Coleridge's inability to write poetry and to live  in a state of paralysis.

    - "Biographia Literaria" :
    It was published in 1817 in two volumes. The formative influences on the work were from William Wordworth.

He believes in the truth of imagination: Imagination recognizes beauty in existing things, but also creates beauty. For Keats, Imagination is more powerful than speculative reasoning, but a complex mind is one which would exist partly on sensations, partly on thought, although it is a sensuous Imagination that is the creative force of Beauty.

    The poet has no identity, no self. He is passive and submissive to things and people as they are, without trying to change or explain them. He must have the "NEGATIVE CAPABILITY", that is the acceptation that we can't solve everything. It is a great quality in Art. Art must not solve the problems but only explore them.
