It was the last night, and we were down by the beach. The leaders started us off in an open mic and then said we could come up and tell the youth group how we felt our connection with God grow closer. When I went up there, I was carrying one of my friends because she broke her foot and couldn't walk, but she wanted to talk for the open mic. She did her talking blah blah blah then it was my turn. The first sentence I started with was, "this was the first week I felt like a true Christian" as soon as I said that, I got a standing ovation. Just to put it into your head, half of these people didn't even know me. After the open mic, I had a bunch of the leaders come up to me and pray for me and congratulate me. I felt so valued because so many people cared about my faith and cared about how my relationship with God was going.
