I think my US history education should begin with the beginning of interactions with the native Americans as this is when the land began to come under the control of settlers which eventually led to the US.

I think that my U.S history should begin during the revolution and when the United States began to form as its own country. I think that this should be where we begin because it is important to learn how the United States formed.

I believe my US history learning should begin by recognizing and learning more about the land and the people that belonged and lived in the US before colonization. I think in most history classes it’s common to start teaching at colonization but I think that teaching causes students to ignore the previous civilization and not be aware of the life before.

I believe my US history should begin way back before the founding of the US to include English history (with the church and the feudal system and ideas that inspired our Constitution) as well as Native American tribes. While these topics are not strictly part of the United States in the sense they cover time periods before our country’s founding and need not be covered very extensively, they nevertheless serve as foundational contextualization for colonization and settlement of Native American land.

I think that we should start learning about us history with the arrival of europeans to the new world. This should also include a brief history of why the europeans left and who currently occupied the land before. I believe this because it is important to get a sense for why things happened using the past events that motivated important things to happen, including what motivated the American revolution and the beginning of US history.

I believe U.S history starts the first day a boat from another country/land reaches the U.S coast. I believe it starts this early because it is important to recognize how it became a country and not what happens during the time we are a country.

I think that US history should begin by learning about the indigenous people who were living in American before it was colonized. I think we should start here because it’s important to always remember that “American” land shouldn’t really belong to one person or one group, but rather everyone who has lived on that land.

I think that my US history education should begin pre-colonization. While I have learned about tribes, like the Wampanoag, it’s usually in the context of the pilgrims. Recognizing that there were people with communities, lives, and traditions long before what we consider “Americans” came here is important, especially because descendants of these people still exist today. Failing to highlight these societies eventually erases them from history.

I believe our education of the united states should begin with the study of indigenous peoples. Some people might say that the it should start with when the first colonizers came however, I think that the history goes beyond the people. It goes back to the land that is currently part of the U.S and who/ what was there first. A country is more than just its people, it’s also the land.

Learning about US history should begin around 5th grade or middle school and should start from the very beginning up until the current day. I think that taking a whole school year to mainly focus on one or two things would be good because students could learn about this country in detail.

I think that U.S History in this course should begin from the discovery of the first colonized land. I believe this is most important because this is the basis and the structure of the world we live in today, if the colonization were to change in the beginning than our lives would be substantially different that what they are today. The Native American Tribes that were on this land have a part in U.S history because so many things could have been changed.
