         <description><![CDATA[<div>On July 14, 1789 the 3rd estate gathered and stormed into the Bastille in Paris. The Bastille was a prison in Paris that unfairly imprisoned 3rd estate members and tortured them. They killed guards and freed prisoners and stole weapons. the 3rd estate saw it represented all their years of suffering at the hands of the monarchy</div>]]></description>

They were angry over the scarcity and high cost of bread in the markets.t They went all the way to the palace and demanded the king and queen come to Paris with them too see just how bad it was.          <title>King Louis and Marie Flee to Austria</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The king and queen after being moved to Paris by the citizens try to flee the city. The two were dressed as peasants but the king was recognized by a citizen and sent back to Paris. They were trying to flee to Austria to gain military support to fight the National Assembly. King Louis is arrested for treason.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The King was put on trial for treason after being arrested. on January of 1793 King Louis XVI was beheaded. Months after the queen was also executed for the same reason. The guillotine was the favored method of execution during the revolution because it was claimed to be "humane".</div>]]></description>

The committee was composed of 12 men with unlimited power over the country. <strong>Maximillien Robespierre</strong>  was the leader of the committee, nicknamed "the incorruptible" but was also called a tyrant.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It lasted from sep 1793 to july 1794. All critics off the new government were silenced. 300,000 people were arrested and 17,000 people were executed.even Robespierre was eventually executed during the reign.</div>]]></description>
