She always helped them pick books that were "just right" for their level, but also for their interests. The kids always reported Anne to know "all the cool books." I have many fond memories of you and your classes: sitting around the table listening to you read aloud a chapter book, making a fake ad with Jacqui Levitan, watching Buy Me That for the nth time, doing paste-up for the Issue inside a Tissue (2nd grade publication), keeping books in my bedroom far past the due date...your wit, warmth and sense of humor made learning feel spunky and safe. And of course, you picked great books for us and let us play inside during recess!! You created a special environment that nurtured our children and gave them a love of learning that will last far beyond their school years.
