Today marked the beginning of our journey to design and build the smart dustbin. We had a brainstorming session to define the problem we're solving and how we can make the dustbin more efficient. The idea is to make it smarter with features like automatic lid opening, sensor-based waste level detection, and maybe even a feature to segregate waste. First, we had a discussion with our teacher about a project called smart dustbin. We need to make a digital poster to promote our smart dustbin. Our smart dustbin called RC smart dustbin.

Today, After spending some time researching with our teacher about existing smart dustbins, I realized we need to make ours stand out. Some models have automatic lid opening, but they’re often bulky or don’t have accurate waste level detection. I started sketching out a basic design: sleek, compact, and easily maintainable.

We’ll use ultrasonic sensors for detecting movement, an Arduino for controlling, and maybe a Bluetooth module to send notifications when the dustbin is full.

On the third day of making RC smart dustbin, I spent the day ordering components: ultrasonic sensors, servos for the lid mechanism, a Raspberry Pi board, and a few other essentials. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything will arrive on time.

Once the materials arrive, I’ll start with assembling the frame and testing the basic sensors. The design will evolve as we go, but I want to keep it simple at first.

After trying several attempts, the sensor is now giving consistent readings. The lid mechanism works well too, although it still needs some fine-tuning for speed. The Raspberry Pi is handling the logic, and I’ve started integrating the Bluetooth module for remote notifications when the dustbin is full.

The code is getting a bit more complex now. I’m making progress, but I need to clean up the design and wiring next. Right now, everything is a bit messy.
