The feeling of wanting to be independent can be traced back to when I was a child. As I’m sure many have experienced, upbringings aren't always the greatest and your parents aren't always the best of the role models. This caused me to be very self-kept and gave me the urge to leave the house at the age of 18 and pursue a life where I made all the decisions. After years of taking orders in the military I finally found myself far from home in the state of California where I became part of the blue collar workforce. To much disappointment but no surprise I am not satisfied with my current employment and after meeting my current housemate,  have decided to start a cleaning business to pursue the independency I have so long sought after. As our business grows so will our equipment and materials making the job easier. I was very glad when I realized how easy it actually is to start a business. It seems that the toughest part of the business will be our will and determination to gain customers, in order so that we may work.

There are already large corporations in which small businesses may form a contract with in order to receive the supplies needed.  A big factor that must be taken into consideration when making these choices is the size of my business and the capability that it will run at. Being that we are not very financially set we will have to start out small. Jobs such as buffing or deep carpet cleaning will be out of our services until we are able to afford the proper equipment needed. This is only a small problem because we will aim for mostly commercial buildings as customers. Most of the trouble seems to come from being able to obtain a cleaning contract. The process of receiving a cleaning contract is done through a bid. Online services such as CleanGuru are able to provide all of the required paperwork and systems to process a bid for a monthly fee. A Employer Identification Number and Federal Employer Identification Number are required in order to complete starting the business. These numbers can be obtained online and are used in order to identify your business and used in order for tax purposes. Insurance for a cleaning business can be bought through pretty much any online site with multiple packages that offer different levels of coverage depending on the price. Next on the agenda would be obtaining a business checking account. The most helpful and informative part of the research for me was the interviewee. Talking to someone who has experience in this business was very insightful. When running a business one cannot expect to continuously make profits if time and effort is not applied to the fullest of capabilities.
