Until I figure that out, I will keep spending my nights watching the Oscars, debating the results with my dearest friends,  my eyes will still shed tears over outstanding deliveries, I will still be mesmerized by some scenes that make me wonder how far  a director's creativity and ingenuity can go and I will still remain bewitched by the craftsmanship of the decors, the sets etc.

I, myself, I'm not the greatest fan of them (the musicals) even though I am the biggest lover of music in any sorts of way, and for that I'm often welling to try them, maybe maybe one will change my opinion forever. And boy... La la land delivered. 

I have watched it several times and till this moment I am mesmerized beyond measure  and each time I find myself discovering and appreciating different parts of it: the story is a pleasure and a pain in the heart, the soundtrack is heaven for my ears and medicine for the soul,  the way it was shot it's like a moving paiting, full of color, depicting the whole journey that we call love in a truly real and honest way. 

Though the ending seems harsh at first sight, I came to the conclusion that is not a drama, but  a deppiction of hope and of love, but just not in the way of fairytales and their cliche. And I believe that is what makes this film in particular, special: it's filled with the joy of sorrow, the beauty of falling in and out of love, the joy of letting go and accepting that things, sometimes, just don't work out in the way you planned, but in the way it is supposed to be. 

It is a love story: a romantic love story, a self love story, a love story of passions and future desires, a continuous love story..
