1. Romance science and prophesis
2. "that branch of literature which is concerned with the impact of scientific advance upon human beings
3. "a handy short definition of almost all science fiction might read: realistic speculation about possible future events, based solidly on adequate knowledge of the real world, past and present, and on a thorough understanding of the nature and significance of the scientific method"
4. literature that attempts to assimilate imaginatively, scientific knowledge about reality and the scientific method, as distinct from the merely practical changes science has made in our lives.
5. Sci fi is not trying to predict what the future will become it just show us that it could be possible.
6.
There are definite characteristics that identify science fiction. And most of these are closely related to the fantasy genre although there are definite differences between them. The most prominent of these being the basis for the plot, which is, invariably, loosely based on scientific fact, although the fact is then developed into fiction to create the plot line.
7. Space exploration is a fact of human life today, but science fiction takes that into dimensions that are impossible for humans to reach.
8. Therefore, the traditional characters to this genre tend to be alien - and as specified previously this can refer to alien beings from other planets or alien humans deformed beyond recognition. Another character that appears in science fiction literature is the non-human animal, again these generally tend to be mutated into fierce creatures,
9. Yet another characteristic of a science fiction location is isolation. The location and the central character are isolated from modern society.
10. realistic speculation about possible future events, based solidly on adequate knowledge of the real world, past and present, and on a thorough understanding of the nature and significance of the scientific method"
11. Most important requirement for science fiction is mythic vision, though it is not exclusive science fiction genre. But it is still a basic requirement that science fiction must possess in order to be known as science fiction
12. Hard science fiction primarily deals with the use of technology and space shuttle explorations into the outer sky.
Soft sci fi:
The innovative writers took a new path dealing extensively not with the physical aspects of science but moved towards other fields of human knowledge.
13.
The difference is that cyberpunk is a future that is controlled by computers where steampunk is controlled by steam
14.
Military science fiction stories focus on interplanetary or interstellar war and usually stress traditional military attributes, aided by a soldier’s point of view
15.
Basically apocalyptic novels describe situations in which the world has already experienced total annihilation due either to natural or manmade or technological advancement
post/
spørg niels om resten.

There may be a similarity in landing a man on the moon and the exploits of the Starship Enterprise, but the gap between reality and imagination is very wide.

8. First it started of as a creature with human like behavior, but has become more unnatural and stronger.

9. If you isolate the story there are not that many difficulties explaining the society.

10. It’s a more creative way to write the genre, and are used by more writers then when it began.

11. It must be explained like it’s a dream and that people would be in disbelief.

12. Hard SF is more with new advanced technologies and Soft SF is more with phycology

13. It’s in a computer or a virtual world, and steampunk is more with a society with old things but living in the future.

14. It could be something with a war but is fought with advanced technology like robots and superhumans.

15. Apocalypse is during an invasion it could be of undead, and post-apocalypse is maybe a wasteland after a big nuclear warfare.

16. It should be impossible to get to being human.

17. Romantic undergenre for science-fiction. mythological themes.

Elaborate.
That depends on what happens in the sci-fi story, though most stories aren’t. Most of the things are quite over the top and exaggerated to the extreme, so it isn’t likely that it will happen anytime soon at least.

6. Explain the characteristics outlined in the undersection “2.7 Features of Science Fiction”.
Plot is loosely based scientific facts, which is then developed into fiction to create the plot line. Science-fiction settings are often contrary of reality, but most relies on a degree of suspension of disbelief. Some more features are imagination, alien and isolation.

7. Explain space exploration in the context of sci-fi.
Space exploration is a fact of human life today, but science fiction takes that into dimensions that are impossible for humans to reach. There may be a similarity in landing a man on the moon and the exploits of the Starship Enterprise, but the gap between reality and imagination is very wide.

8. How has the alien evolved in the genre over the years, and how can the alien territory vary?
In the beginning the aliens was portrayed as human beings with superior intelligence and powers. They were also very often represented as giant creatures and animals. Though with the introduction of the internet the aliens began to become a threat to the very existence of human beings.

9. How does isolation play a role in the genre?
It allows the reader to escape completely into the fictional world.

10. How is speculation included in sci-fi?
You come up with an idea, an innovation that does not exist, but the author needs to speculate to get their idea to bloom.

11. Define the term mythic vision.
Mythic vision is the ability to make the reader believe that the universe, in which the story takes place, can work and “real”. So if the reader doesn’t believe in the universe and can prove their disbelief with logic, then the author has failed to create a mythic vision.

12. Explain the genre Hard Science Fiction and Soft Science Fiction.
Hard SF deals more with the use of technology and space exploration. It is supposed to give the reader the urge to enter outer planet and stellar locations. The soft SF deals more with the psychology, sociology and philosophy areas of SF, to be more specific they focus on the effects future technology could have on life.

13. What is Cyberpunk in contrast to Steampunk?
It is where events partially or fully take place in “virtual reality”, which is formed by computers or computer network. Characters are either human or artificial intelligences. Cyberpunk is about the negative, almost dystopian like societies in which computer technology dominates.

14. What is Military Science Fiction?
It is about the interstellar war and usually stress traditional military attributes.

15. Explain Apocalypse and Post-Apocalypse Science Fiction.
The apocalypse takes place while "the end" of the world is happening.
