In elementary school, I had a group of friends that I'd spend a lot of time with. One of them, seen in the photo above, moved to Virginia Beach in middle school. 

It's not like I haven't seen her since then, but of course, I don't get to see her quite as much. She used to live in my neighborhood, and I could just hop through the yard behind mine and walk across the street with my friend Annie (who lived behind me at the time) to get to her house. I'm doing well in school, and every day I get closer to my goal for the end of the semester. I've been given the chance to earn something unbelievable! If you didn't know, my favorite animal is a bearded dragon, a kind of lizard. And I've always dreamed of owning one. 

Well, this year, my parents have decided to get me one with the requirement that I have all As and Bs by the end of the first semester. I've been researching and planning and asking for the necessities of the lizard so I'm prepared to bring them into my home. The photo is of my Aunt Danielle and my Uncle Brian, who is my father's little brother. They got married two years ago, in Disney World, and ever since then, my aunt has wanted to have a kid. To start a family with the man she loves. 

Well, this year, my family got the amazing news that she was pregnant, and would be delivering her daughter in January of 2022. We used to travel down to North Carolina, the state where most of my family lives, to see them, but my mother's relationship with her family isn't quite perfect so we tend to spend less time with them. 

But family doesn't necessarily have to mean by-blood, and my mother has friends that she's close enough with that our family has started to see them as family as well. We go to their house for Thanksgiving, the holiday that happens to be my grandmother's favorite, and we go to his parents for Christmas! He turned 13 this month, November 16th, and he is going to have a party this following weekend. He's very into history, and learning about different wars and battles, and learning about weapons. He is incredibly smart and he's a nice person to have a conversation with! My cats are named Bossk and Mars, and my dogs (seen in the photo above) are named Luna and Chopper! They're the people I spend the most time with. I see them for holidays, we drive down to their houses for holiday dinners, my grandparents come to celebrate our birthdays.. For example, one of my father's college friends and his wife are known as "Uncle Jared and Aunt Erin". Their daughter is known as my little cousin.

Another example is my mom's friend Brandy. I haven't seen Aunt Brandy for a good while now but I will be seeing her this December for a Christmas dinner event at my church, the event they have every year.
