They often assume that projects won't take as long to finish as they really will, which can lead to a false sense of security when they believe that they still have plenty of time to complete these tasks.

Everyone procrastinate. They put things off because they don't want to do them , or because they have too many things on there plates. Putting things off-big or small is part of being human. They suspect that they could be a much better writer if only they didn't put off writing projects until the last minute. Procrastination is something that most people have at least a little experience with. No matter how we'll organize and committed you are, chances are that you have found yourself frittering away hours on trivial pursuits when you should have been spending that time on work or school -related projects. Whether you're putting off finish a project for work , or ignoring your grades, and in life..

Procrastination Is one of those things that even the most well-organized and punctual fall victim to at some point or another. Think about the last time you found yourself watching television when you really should have been doing home work

In addition to the reason why we procrastinate , we often come up with a number of excuses or rationalization to justify our behavior. According to Tuckman, Abry , and Smith , there are 15 key reasons why do people procrastinate .

1. Not knowing what needs to be done
2. Not knowing how to do something
3. Not wanting to do something
4. Not caring when something gets done
5. Not caring if it gets done or not
6. Not feeling in the mood to o it
7. Being the habit of waiting until the last minute
8. Believing that you work better under pressure
9. Thinking that you can finish it at the last minute
10. Lacking the initiative to get started
11. Forgetting
12. Blaming sickness or poor health
13. Waiting for the right moment
14. Needing time to think about the task
15.delaying one task in favor or another

If the natural interest are not stimulated by the course content , one solution to procrastinating maybe to " just to do it " ( i.e., simply continue to attend class and do the assignment work on time ). This will give you more "guilt-free" time to do those things that are more interesting to you . Of course , it won't necessarily make the class or assignment interesting , but at least you will not cloud the "good times" with worry
