He see the pig and sees they are giving it away if you can guess it's weight. He does just that he guesses the pigs weight and wins him. The dog Fly was the first to take into Babe. The dog started to raise the pig like it was one of her puppies and she showed Babe how to be a sheep dog when all the puppies were sold. The first couple of lessons for Babe was learning to outsmart the sheep becuase they are dumb to the dog. Babe doesn't see the sheep like that. Babe starts to become friends with Ma the sheep, he learns how smart the sheep actually are. One day Babe is sleep when he hears some sheep crying. Babe ran over to the sheep as fast as he could and fought away the dogs. There was rustlers in town trying to steal or kill some sheep. The sheep got hurt one of them died. Babe was covered in blood. Farmer Hodgett comes over and see what it looks like and that was Babe killed a sheep. There was a plan to send Babe to a sheep herding contest. At the time he was going to kill Babe. But Farmer Hodgett gets asked about the rustlers and the dogs attacking his sheep from his wife. Farmer Hodgett was happy to hear that Babe was only doing his job. He decided to still enter Babe into the contest. Fly the dog that trained Babe is worried that Babe won't have to sheep's respect so he does to talk to the sheep. He never does this its against his own rules. Babe gains the trust of the sheep over the next couple months and when its the day of the competition the weather is terrible and the other dogs are struggling a lot. He is a pig. He is owned and works for Farmer Hodgett. He is a very smart pig that learned how to herd sheep. 
Fly- This is the dog that was a sheepdog that had puppies and saw Babe as a puppy almost and taught Babe how to be a sheepdog.
Farmer Hodgett- He is the owner of Babe he didn't think anything diffrent of Babe at first and just planned on eating him. He eventually became a great friend of Babe's
Mrs. Hodgett- She is the one who saved Babe's life twice. She convinced him to see what he can do with the sheep and when Babe was falsely accused of killing a sheep. She told the Farmer who really did it.
Ma- She was a sheep that helped Babe with being a pig that does a dogs job. Person vs Person they are not people but they are two characters and they both disagreed 
2nd Conflict- Babe saves the sheep from getting stolen or killed besides for one. He looks like the one who killed the sheep. The farmer is going to kill Babe till his wife stops him and tells him it was dogs that did it. This is person vs person becuase two characters were at a standoff.
3rd Conflict- Babe is doing a dogs job when he is herding sheep. Babe has to over came he short legs and lack of a bark and bad weather to win the contest.
