This means understanding their needs such as their learning style/ profile or interests. In Sousa's text, it states that "A student learning profile is the unique combination of a learner’s cognitive preferences, learning styles, cultural background, gender, and personal experiences that influence how they best take in and process information." (Sousa & Tomlinson, 2018, pp. 88). I think this is really important when creating that differentiated classroom.
