Slovakia definitely “goes green” with the Green Houses Program, but 

the share of wind power remains very low.

Why?

Reason 1: Slovakia does not have the ideal natural conditions to generate 

wind power. Investors have no great interest in pumping money into parks of wind turbines.

Reason 2: Small wind turbines that produce electricity for households

could be an option, but the laws do not make it easy to install these.

France installed more charging points than any other nation during 2017. 

They established more than 12000 charging points last year, that’s one third more than any other country in the world. 

France have invested a lot in electric vehicle infrastructure because they have struggled so bad with air pollution . 

Despite the investments electric vehicles have only 1.5 percent of the new-car market. 

The France government think that these investments will help  to sell more electric cars. 

The France government have said they wanted to ban new diesel and gas cars in 2040. 

France also support buying electric cars by offering a bonus tot he people. 

The French government also set up a national purchase incentive scheme for all-electric utility vans. 

Slovakia has four nuclear reactors generating half of its energy.

Their gross power output was growing from 440 to 470 MW per each unit

In 1972, Slovakia's first nuclear power reactor began operating.

The commitment of the government of Slovakia to the future of nuclear power is very strong.

There are even 2 more reactors under construction.

But they are going to shutdown the Bohunice V1 reactors.

And replaces it with the 2 new ones.

Per capita electricity consumption is averaged 4430 kWh.

All of Slovakia’s gas comes from Russia.

The Nuclear Regulatory Authority of Slovakia is the organisation responsible for licensing, safety, waste management, radiation protection and safeguards.

 

President Emmanuel Macron's want to make gender equality an international focus because women and girls are the first to be affected by poverty, conflict, and climate change therefore, France has published its International Strategy for Gender Equality. The strategy puts gender equality in the middle of all the mechanisms (cooperation and development, economic diplomacy, influence, cultural, and educational policies)

This is what they want to achieve: 1) Free and equal access to services 2) Promoting access to productive and economic resources 3) Ensuring women and girls' equal and free access to rights and justice 4) Participation of women in decision-making and 5) equal participation of women in peace and security processes.


The gender gap is almost the highest in the employment gap

In the Czech Republic, women are still discriminated when we’re talking about the labour market. The employment and gender gap is one of the highest in Europe. Even though there is a Anti-Discrimination Act that guarantees equal treatment to all employers; man or woman. Although women are successful in gaining qualifications, there career is flatter and women earn almost 3,700 CZK a month less than men do, even when they had the same education. As a consequence, they earn less than men over their life cycle, and their pensions are lower.

The improving gender equality situation in Slovakia

Slovakia was beaten only by Romania as the country with top inequality.Gender segregation for study courses deemed typically female pertains where 47 percent of women and 24 percent of men study.The gender segregation in education also impacts the career opportunities of men and women, being reflected also in the labour market. Over the long term, the situation has improved, especially in finances, where the incomes of women grew more than those of men. However, females still receive lower salaries than men for the same work and thus, they have lower pensions and face a higher risk of poverty during their whole lives.
