Migration & Slovakia:
Slovakia is not one of the traditional final destinations for migrants. Slovakia was almost an exclusive country of origin of the migrants. It was the accession of the Slovak Republic to the European Union and the Schengen Area that caused more significant changes. During the period since 2004, the illegal and asylum migration has decreased and the legal migration has increased more than four times. Although the increase of foreign population in Slovakia in years 2004 – 2008 was the second highest among the EU states, the representation of foreigners in population remains low. Today the foreigners make up 1.8 percent of population and their number is slowly, yet continuously increasing: in June 2017, there were about 9,968 more foreigners living in Slovakia than the year before, which means an increase of 11%.

Migration & Czech Republic:
The number of asylum seekers crossing the Czech Republic dropped in 2017 very small numbers.
Although the country was largely untouched in 2015 into the
European Union of over one million migrants fleeing war and poverty in the Middle
East Africa and Asia, fears of Muslim immigration have dominated the election debate.
Police said they arrested 172 migrants in 2017 who sought to illegally transit the
Czech Republic, mostly coming from Austria, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.

Migration & France:

Macron will not allow another refugee camp in Calais and warned those people remaining in the area who hope to reach Britain. Slovakia is a small European country with a population of around 5.5 million people. It is the country in Europe with the biggest ratio of locally produced cars per person. The electric and hybrid car trend is gradually finding its way to Slovakia. The number on Slovak roads is also increasing thanks to a €5 million support scheme for their purchase extended until mid-2018.In Bratislave there are more then 30 charging stations. The charging stations are heavily lacking in housing estates.Total number of cars sold in Slovakia, electric and hybrid cars make up only 0.1 percent but possible increase to 1.5-2 years in around 5 years.

France’s nuclear life In 1974 France decided to go nuclear. There was a lack of other energy sources and there was an oil crisis. France has been very active in developing nuclear technology. “The french are too dependent on nuclear power to give up on it.” : says a nuclear power expert. France is dependent on nuclear energy for 75 percent of its energyThe nuclear industry provides a lot of jobs in France. It employs about 400,000 persons. The electricity production in France is spread across 19 power plants and 58 reactors. The French government wants to reduce nuclear energy consumption from 75% to 50 %.The French minister of environment Nicolas Hulot wanted to close 17 nuclear reactors by 2025.

As of 2019, the brand will also be manufacturing electrical components for plug-in hybrids. one of the major stakeholders in that transformation, electricity producer ČEZ, is pushing ahead with a programme to have the required infrastructure in place when the brakes on electric car sales finally come off.In the Czech republic Electric, hybrid and other alternative fuel vehicles used for business purposes are exempt from the road taks.

In the Czech Republic has the government increased the share of renewable energy sources with 20% by 2020, with as main source the solar energy. Solar energy has grown considerably from negligible levels in 2009 to around 0.5% in 2015, primarily due to generous subsidies. The growth of renewable energy sources was supported by some different mechanisms like the feed-in tariff (FIT) system, feed-in premiums (an amount paid on top of the market price for electricity or green bonuses), investment subsidies and fiscal measures. Two-third of the subsidies for RES were going to solar power, which produces only 5% of renewable energy.

The Czech Republic has two nuclear plants: Temelin and Dukovany.
They want to build five extra nuclear power plants, to increase the atomic power production, because they see nuclear power as the basis of their energy mix.
The semi-state company CEZ should build the new reactors in the nuclear plants at Temelin and Dukovany, but also at three new locations.
With building new nuclear plants, they hope to ban the coal fired power plants and want to be less dependant on Russia’s oil and gas.
In the Czech Republic, all parties represented in parliament are advocate of nuclear energy and they don’t see a big future in green energy.

Frances comebackFrance is relatively late in the development of wind energy; considering the fact that they can’t reach the 2020 goals set by the EU. Their target is to double the onshore wind power capacity from 2015 levels by 2023.France also hopes to get more wind energy from its coasts. It launched its first offshore wind turbine near the country’s western coast. It could provide electricity for 5.000 homes. In less than 10 years, they want to build another 50 much larger wind turbines.

President Emmanuel Macron's want to make gender equality an international focus because women and girls are the first to be affected by poverty, conflict, and climate change therefore, France has published its International Strategy for Gender Equality. The strategy puts gender equality in the middle of all the mechanisms (cooperation and development, economic diplomacy, influence, cultural, and educational policies)

This is what they want to achieve: 1) Free and equal access to services 2) Promoting access to productive and economic resources 3) Ensuring women and girls' equal and free access to rights and justice 4) Participation of women in decision-making and 5) equal participation of women in peace and security processes.

The gender gap is almost the highest in the employment gap

In the Czech Republic, women are still discriminated when we’re talking about the labour market. The employment and gender gap is one of the highest in Europe. Even though there is a Anti-Discrimination Act that guarantees equal treatment to all employers; man or woman. Although women are successful in gaining qualifications, there career is flatter and women earn almost 3,700 CZK a month less than men do, even when they had the same education. As a consequence, they earn less than men over their life cycle, and their pensions are lower.

The improving gender equality situation in Slovakia

Slovakia was beaten only by Romania as the country with top inequality.Gender segregation for study courses deemed typically female pertains where 47 percent of women and 24 percent of men study. The gender segregation in education also impacts the career opportunities of men and women, being reflected also in the labour market. Over the long term, the situation has improved, especially in finances, where the incomes of women grew more than those of men. However, females still receive lower salaries than men for the same work and thus, they have lower pensions and face a higher risk of poverty during their whole lives.
