So during the first week of our usrah, we discussed a lot of things related the adab or manners when seeking knowledge. Many questions arised, some anwered some not. First and foremost, Adab in seeking knowledge refers to the proper etiquette, manners, and behavior expected of a person when persuing knowledge. These principles guide both the learner and the teacher to ensure that the process of gaining knowledge is done with sincerity, respect and humility. One of the question that were asked is why are today's students so disrespectful towards their teachers. To make it short, the way teachings are done nowadays are a lot different than the one in the olden days. To not make it simple, the problem is mainly influenced by broader societal changes, technology, family upbringing and shifts in educational practices. Also, why is adab so important in seeking knowledge?.

Basically, it is essential because it goes beyond the mere acquisition of information. It shapes the character, morality, purpose of the learner creating a role model.

Next, we also discussed about Al Quran as The Book of Knowledge. The Quran holds a central place in Islam as it provides guidance not only on spiritual matters but also serving as a profound source of knowledge for all aspects of life. For example, The Quran tells us stories about previous humans action that leads to their community destruction. As we can see in the story of prophet Luth A.S, all of of them are met with Allah's wrath. This will help us on not to repeat the sins from the past ( even though they are still happening in today's society) hence increasing our Iman as we are afraid of the Divine power. Another example from the aspect of physical life. The Quran provides us on knowledge on how to live a healthy life as said in Surah An- Nahl

On the authority of `Umar (radi Allaahu 'anhu), who said: One day while we were sitting with the Messenger of Allaah there appeared before us a man whose clothes were exceedingly white and whose hair was exceedingly black; no signs of journey were to be seen on him and none of us knew him. He walked up and sat down in front of the Prophet, with his knees touching against the Prophet's and placing the palms of his hands on his thighs he said: "O Muhammad, tell me about Islaam."

The Messenger of Allaah said: "Islaam is to testify that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allaah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah, to perform prayers, to give zakaah, to fast in Ramadaan, and to make the pilgrimage to the House if you are able to do so."

He said: "You have spoken rightly"; and we were amazed at him asking him and saying that he had spoken rightly. He (the man) said: "Tell me about Eemaan."

He (the Prophet,) replied: "It is to believe in Allaah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day, and to believe in divine destiny (qadr), both the good and the evil of it."

He said: "You have spoken rightly."

He (the man) said: "Then tell me about Ihsaan."

He (the Prophet,) replied: "It is to worship Allaah as though you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then (knowing that) truly He sees you."

He said: "Then tell me about the Hour."

He replied: "The one questioned about it knows no better than the questioner."

He said: "Then tell me about its signs."

He replied: "That the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress, and that you will see barefooted, naked destitute shepherds competing in constructing lofty buildings." Then he (the man) left, and I stayed for a time. The he said: "O `Umar, do you know who the questioner was?" barefooted, naked destitute shepherds competing in constructing lofty buildings." Then he (the man) left, and I stayed for a time. The he said: "O `Umar, do you know who the questioner was?" I said: "Allaah and His Messenger know best."

He said: "It was Jibreel, who came to teach you your religion." It was related by Muslim.

The hadith teaches us about manners in seeking knowledge:-

•When we want to gain knowledge from someone, it's important to approach them respectfully and in the right circumstances.

• We need to pursue knowledge and apply it in our daily lives.

we learn about 3 of the 6 of pillar of Iman which is believe in Allah, believe in Angels, and believe in Qur'an.

1. Believe in Allah

The first pillar of Iman is believe that Allah is our creator, all encompassing master. He created mankind from a tiny cells and replicated into a very complex human being as narrated in the Qur'an with every details. Such is the might of Allah.

2. Believe in Angels

The second pillar of Iman is believe in the existence of Angels. Allah created the angels each with their own different task and all of them obey Him. We must believe that there are Angels that is tasked to note down our rights and wrongs in life from the moment we reach puberty until the day we return to Allah as well as others Angels such as Jibril and Mikail. The benefits of believing in Angels is that our Iman will be approved by Allah S.W.T and can remind us the consequences of our actions.

3. Believe in the Qur'an

The Qur'an is one and last of the holy books that is bestowed upon us from Allah Himself through His Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. It contains all different guidance in our life from being a servant to Him to nurturing the young ones. We must believe in the Qur'an as it is the only Holy Book that cannot derive it's meaning into other meaning. Each word in the Qur'an is very complex that even the smartest of human kind cannot apprehend what is the meaning behind some of the word in the Qur'an such as the first ayah of Surah Yasin which is ya and sin .

- Belief ini the hereafter.

As you guys know belief in the hereafter is the fifth article of islamic faith. A person is not believer without the belief in this pillar. The Prophet SAW has directed us to believe in the day of judgement and resurrection after death. First of all, believing in life after death requires someone to belief that the life of this world and if all that is in it will come to an end on an appointed day. This is what we called al-Qiyamah. Besides that, on that day all people who have ever lived will be brought back to life and transgressions will be presented before god for final judgement. Apart from that, belief in the hereafter and the things that will happen in the hereafter has an important place in the fundamentals values. “This message is brought by all prophets and man will measure the benefits and harm of their actions. When we talk about the in the hereafter, ofcourse we are looking forward to know what are the effect of belief in the last day. Demonstrates the completeness, greatness, and uniqueness of Allah names and attributes.

-Belief in Qada And Qadar

Belief in pre-destination is one of the articles of faith in islam. This belief leads to contentment and satisfaction, even in the face of hardship and adversity. Technically, al qadar refers to allah’s complete knowledge that is written in the safe tablet, his wills exist before the existence of all things and His creation of all things happen by his command and will.

The things that we have to know thaf Allah knows what happened, what is happening now, what will happen in the future and if something didn’t happen then he will know what would have happened if it happened. Benefits of belief in qada and qadar are peace of mind, your concern is not much the past or future, it give you the will power and the determination to go forward in the way of Allah

-Belief in Rasul and Anbiya

Belief in rasul refers to a firm that allah sent a messenger to every nation and to call them to worship Allah alone without any partners. All prophets bring the same message of al-tawhid. Obedience to the prophet in religious matters is obedience to Allah SWT. Prophets are necessary to convey allah’s instructions and guidance for mankind. Allah decision to send human messenger is justified by the following. Firstly, guiding humanity from the worship of created beings to worship allah swt as their creator. Second, clarifying to humanity the purpose of creation and lastly, showing humanity the right path that will lead them to paradise and to salvation from hellafter. Allah sent prophet muhammad saw to all of the two races of mankind and jinn,whereas each prophets who came before him was sent only to his own people. A true muslim is one who adheres to the teachings of Islam based upon the teachings of the noble prophets.

-Ihsan is repeated 211 times in Quran

3 characteristic of al-Muhsin (someone who have ihsan quality)

Benefit of iman and ihsan in hereafter is Allah will judge our ihsan and iman in hereafter.

For manners and Akhlak, It has two separate way to nurture which manner can be learnt and develop while for Akhlak it can't be learn on our heart.

Imam al attas say that if one person finds knowledge thus he is indeed a good man with a good manners. While for imam ibn Qayyim he said that if what that man learns is good teaching so his heart surely is good.

Manners what is can be see while akhlak is something already developed in our heart already. Akhlak is what we refined it to truly polished it while for Manners is what can be taught by the early stage of one life.

In The holy book, Quran, Surah maryam 40-50 is telling us about Prophet Abraham with his father. To summarise it, The father of Abraham is an idols worshipper and idols maker which is something that associated Allah. Yet to intensify the topic of Manners between parents, In the quran the prophet Abraham say to his father with a saying such affectionate and intense love to give a guide to his father. Although in the next verse the father curses Prophet Abraham with such anger thr prophet still speak softly and such lovely tone to keep his manners to his father.To highlight the topic there is 4 point that are if you have a more knowledge from other, speak with such soft and humble words. Two, if you want to invite people to good deed but they don't want, please don't force it. Third, don't be mad at older ones if they don't want to follow our invitation. Last, if they throw tantrums please don't fight back.
