-to force you to stop and think about what you are reading.
-to show your teacher you are doing the reading and what your take-aways are.
-to review what CONNECTIONS are. Many students say that they find coming up with connections difficult, and Jenn says that this is perhaps the most important point. If a reading doesn't connect to anything a person has experienced, read about, or thought about...then what IS the point?

To do so, they must find evidence about who the character is, what they are like, and what they have done that warrants a, well, warrant.

-Literacy: go back to the book and find evidence to support an idea
-Collaboration: working in a pair
-Artistry: create an appealing poster
