Name: Keyon Tomlinson

Subject: Electrical Installation

Topic: Proper use and care of power tools

Power tools are essential for many types of work, but they must be used carefully to ensure safety and long life. Before using any power tool, always read the user manual and wear proper safety gear, such as gloves and goggles. Make sure the tool is in good working condition, and inspect cords or batteries for damage. Never use a power tool in wet conditions, as the moisture can lead to electric shock.

When operating the tool, maintain a firm grip and keep your work area clean to prevent accidents. Avoid distractions and never leave a running tool unattended. After use, clean the tool to remove dust and debris. Store it in a dry place away from children. Regular maintenance such as oiling moving parts and replacing worn parts will help extend the tool’s lifespan.

Using the right tool for the job also prevents unnecessary damage and injuries. Always disconnect power tools from electricity when changing parts or adjusting. Proper training and responsible handling reduce risks and help ensure both your safety and the reliability of the equipment over time.

Topic: The Proper Use and Care of Power Tools

Done By: Desiree Cardoza

A bad workman blames his tools, but a good one sees them as extensions of himself and takes proper care of them. Power tools, when maintained and used correctly, help ensure a successful job. Proper use starts with reading the manufacturer's manual, which outlines how to safely and effectively operate the tool. Always ensure safety guards and switches are in place, and wear the required PPE. Keep hands, clothing, and hair away from moving parts, and maintain proper footing, especially with portable tools.

Caring for tools is just as important. The manual will advise on cleaning methods—whether to use a dry cloth, damp cloth, or brush. Tools should be stored properly on racks, counters, or in cupboards, with cords wound carefully to avoid damage. Moving parts should be lubricated regularly. With consistent maintenance and responsible use, tools won't be to blame for poor results. Perhaps there should be a manual for users too!
