Behind their strength is often loneliness, worry, and the pain of missing a parent who serves far away.

While they continue to smile, adapt, and keep going, they carry heavy hearts through frequent moves, long separations, and the constant uncertainty of military life.

These children grow up learning to be brave long before they are ready.

Today, we honor not only their resilience, but also the sadness they often have to hide.

We recognize the weight they carry, and we hold space for their sacrifices with compassion, gratitude, and love.

Military kids go through things that a lot of us don’t experience. They might have to move often, change schools, and spend time away from a parent during deployment. That can be really challenging.

But because of that, they also become really strong and adaptable. They learn how to handle change and stay positive, even when things aren’t easy.

At FLVS, we have students from all over, including military families. Even though we’re online, we can still show support—whether that’s by wearing purple, sharing messages, or just being understanding.

Purple Up is really about taking a moment to recognize military kids and say thank you for everything they go through. Thank you all!!!!!!!!!!
