So so there are three steps of teaching vocabulary..

First step is presenting new words:

Initially using some visual images which help them imagery

Then using actions and gestures such as mime .well this one sounds bizarre but it works
Next using other techniques for instance describing, defining the context, and translating

Second step is is practicing:

In this step we can use other students to review the words however playing some games for reviewing can be productive

Also so students can learn with their friends like asking

Third step is making sure students make new words their own;

For instance we can use vocabulary record system and personalizing.
I mean add synonyms for a new words or add some pictures, Mapping a word family.
Personalizing means: looking for recently learned words. And noticing how they are used

A text-based approach entails: Linking spoken and written texts to the cultural context of their use. Designing units of work that focus on developing skills in relation to whole texts. Providing students with guided practice as they develop language skills for meaningful communication through whole texts.

Test, teach, test (TTT) is an approach to teaching where learners first complete a task or activity without help from the teacher. Then, based on the problems seen, the teacher plans and presents the target language. Then the learners do another task to practise the new language
