         <description><![CDATA[<p>On the Silk Road, the ideas of other cities moved along the silk road. One of which was religion, and during the time Xi'an was under Tang, it was known as an important 'Religion Centre'.</p><p><br></p><p>Religion Xi'an majorly believes in is Buddhism and Taoism, and a small majority of them believed in the new arriving Zoroastrianism, Nestorianism and Manichaeism. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Buddhism is the major beliefs, copies of the Indian scriptures (religious texts) and it is a popular artefact brought by a man named Xuan Zang, he traveled for 17 years to get the Indian Buddhism scriptures, and learned the Indian culture in Buddhism. He also translated the whole scriptures and brought it back to China.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Xi'an traded lots of goods based off their traditions, ranging from cuisines to art like music on the Silk Road! </p><p><br></p><p>A popular cuisine from Xi'an on the Silk Road was their tradition of eating noodles, where it evolve into other dishes around the world currently. Famous traders like Marco Polo brought noodles from Xi'an to Italy, where after changes, is now known as pasta. There are other dishes from.</p><p><br></p><p>The traditional Chinese music from Xi'an grew so popular that foreign orchestra, dancers and singer joined in to create a diverse culture of art on the Silk Road. Musicians from Xi'an also traveled around the Silk Road, spreading their traditions to even more countries.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Xi'an had many types of goods, one of them being paper, which was considered more of an advanced technology on the Silk Road. </p><p><br></p><p>Paper made the Silk Road a lot more convenient as it makes collecting things or improving one's knowledge easier as they can write it down. </p><p><br></p><p>Paper was first discovered in the Han dynasty, and was very popular in the Silk Road, with lots of different places using it. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, was the Eastern start who started the silk road in more of the Asia side. Having the silk road influenced/ motivated Emperor Wu  is because this can be an important source of economics and wealth. Emperor Wu sent Zhang Qian to the west twice so that China can connect to other countries too.</p><p><br></p><p>The silk road is also called a 'friendship canal' as it has connected many places and created relationship between the west and the east, they also make a diverse place for people to share their culture. The Silk Road have lots of different people who stepped foot on it, for example emperors, traders, merchants, prisoners...</p><p><br></p><p>As Xi'an opened to other countries through the Silk Road, it's economic and trading improve and Xi'an was one of the biggest trading port as it is close to many rivers making silk production and other goods like tea, gems, paper, gun powder etc. They are also able to trade their knowledge and religion to other places.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The impacts Xi'an made on the silk road is huge as they were the start of the Silk Road on the east side of Asia. </p><p><br></p><p>If Xi'an during the Han dynasty didn't let Zhang Qian go to the west, the Silk Road would not have existed. And if the Silk Road did not exist, the world may not be a diverse connected and instead a mess with lots of wars, and a not improving world (no modern machines to make life convenient).</p><p><br></p><p>So to conclude without the influence of Emperor Wu wanting to open up economics, Xi'an and parts of Asia may not be a part of the Silk Road. And Xi'an going to the west is one of the greatest impacts the world have ever seen</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Xi'an was one of the largest silk production on the silk road, as it was easy for Xi'an to produce silk as they are close to water, they are one of the biggest ports.</p><p><br></p><p>Silk are made by silk worm cocoons, and silk fabric has a shiny and soft look and texture, and usually having patterns of dragons, which can be seen in Buddhism, Taoism and confucianism. Dragons are usually shown as power, good luck and strength in Chinese cultures.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Porcelain are like pottery, made with a mix of kaolin and petuntse (also known as Chinese clay.)  </p><p><br></p><p>Their background are usually a white colour, with patterns of dragons and Chinese flowers on it,  both having deep Chinese culture. Dragons as I mentioned before can be seen in many major religion and represents power and strength, and also believed to bring good luck.</p><p><br></p><p>Different colour flowers are different colours, for example two of the most popular coloured flowers arered or pink represents celebrations and happiness, blue means honesty and uniqueness.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Big Wild Goose Pagoda</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was originally a 5 tier tall Buddhist temple, and there are Buddha statues in there. It was then rebuilt to 8 tier tall, but due to an earthquake, the roof fell. Causing now having only 7 tier left.</p><p><br/></p><p>At the time ancient China separated into meat eating Buddhist and vegetarian Buddhist, a monk said “I hope that merciful Bodhisattva will give us some meat.” As the monk said hat he saw a bunch of flying goose, and they died in front of the monk. And this is how the Big Wild Goose Pagoda was built and since then Monk stopped eating meat.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Xi'an city wall is around the end of the Silk Road, and built around the tang dynasty. </p><p><br/></p><p>The Xi'an city wall are gates that every traders, merchants... has to get through when entering Xi'an. It is also act as a protection to the city, where it is a somewhat "custom" on the silk road, which can stop dangerous people from entering the city. </p><p><br/></p><p>The Xi'an city wall is one of the most well preserved city wall in the world.</p>]]></description>

Monks now are vegetarians due to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.</p><p><br></p><p>Xi'an also developed loyal monks who are willing to travel a long way to India to get the Indian transcript of Buddhism.</p>]]></description>
