This year, I hosted 4 family engagement nights which were very well attended!

With collaboration with UNH-Cooperative Extension, I provided a Healthy Eating night where family’s left with materials and resources on navigating choosy eaters and developing healthy eating habits and children left with a MyPlate that encourages healthy meal choices.

Most recently, I hosted a Dental Hygiene Night and partnered with our local community college Dental program that provided all children with free dental screenings and referrals to set up with pediatric dental providers.

Student feedback on after school programs from post-program surveys indicated increased sense of belonging and opportunities to try new things.

We are from the smallest city in NH and started an early childhood coalition six years ago. We have been able to make great connections with community partners, organizations, and the school has recognized and supported our work, which has lead us to the embark on our journey of starting a community school model.

Our social workers have strong relationships with families and their home visiting practices are fundamental to the success of students.

My name is Jacinta, I’m an ESL teacher and I’m from International Institute of New England, which is one of the Community Partners in the Manchester Community School Project. (Beech and Gossler schools) A bright spot for me was attending the Gossler Ice Cream and Raffle night in April and connecting with a lot of ELL parents who might be interested in attending the ESL workshops that we are working on getting started during this next year.
