Here Ralph almost feels at home and he does not want to leave. This shows him being deceived and him being in a place he is comfortable in which he finds like a paradise. This free setting then symbolizes Ralph's personality that is a complete opposite to Piggy's. He doesn't have to worry and I believe it is because for all his life he has depended o his parents and this is a time of independence for him. In Piggy's case on the other hand she is used to being on her own, it making it nothing special for her. When we first see him, he has his pants down showing that he has just been to the bathroom. At 6 years old, we can see that just by that action he is trying to take care of himself. To further prove that statement, we also see him eating berries to try and feed and take care of himself because ehe knows he is hungry. This develops him as a cautious, worrisome person who feels as if they need to be protected. On the other hand, Ralph thinks of this as a tropical paradise, with large, warm pools to swim in.
