The Prisoner Who Wore Glasses

The short story, The Prisoner Who Wore Glasses, relates to the essential question of special bonds that link us to family, friends pets, and communities by the different bonds Brille had. Brille had many different types of of bonds with people he was with while in the prison. His bond with the warder wasn't the best, but they helped each other out. I think I would describe this bond as a professional bond because they were in a professional atmosphere. On page 35, line 159 the Warder says, "This thing between you and me must end. You may not know it but I have a wife and children and you're driving me to suicide." Although Brille and the Warder did not have the best relationship, they still worked things out in the end. Brille understood what the Warder was going through because he had 12 kids of his own. Brille didn't have the best bonds with his kids, but in the end he realizes the importance and turns it around more. There are different types of bonds, either good or bad, and everybody has them with the people that they meet.

Ted's statement in this video is to build stronger bonds with fathers and his children so that they can grow into becoming mature adults.

I think that this type of poem is perfect for describing my brother because there are so many qualities about him, some good and some not, that the letters can tell you. This poem shows our bond because it explains how sometimes relationships can be a little rocky, but in the end they can turn out to be good.

Another bond that I share is with my basketball teammates. I have been playing basketball since third grade and we have grown up together learning the sport and encouraging each other along the way. Playing sports is a good way for anybody to crate bonds because you need to always be there for each other through the tough games and the easier ones too. I have so many fun memories with my teammates and I can not wait to make more.

This is My Family on the beach in South Carolina. As a family, we enjoy the times we get to spend together as a family. I would say I have good, strong, and personal bonds with everyone in my family. My dad and I enjoy playing ping pong. My mom, Melanie, and I like going shopping and getting our nails done. My little brother, Emerson, and I like playing games and playing soccer outside. Even though sometimes we get into arguments, in the end he is still family. Together we like playing card games and going on hikes. One of the strongest bonds I have is with my family, and that is because I am with them the most. We never get into fights as a family, and I am very great full for that. I love my family because we are always there for each other.

Teammates are like family because we are together every day practicing, and we are always laughing, having fun, there for each other, and making everyone better.

This is a shape poem that I wrote about my family. I chose the shape of a heart because it resembles love and I love my family. I said in the poem that family is everything. This relates to bonds because if you have a tight bond with people, you rely on them and trust them, just like I do with my family at home.

The Ceremony for Taking

In the poem The Ceremony for Taking, written by Lara Mann, the speaker shares a personal bond with her parents who were getting divorced. This relates to bonds because even though it seems like bonds were being broken, there were still bonds there. I feel as though when people think of bonds they always have to be good, but in this poem it tells us that it's okay to have those certain bonds that are not as strong as others. It know it can be hard to deal with the thought of no longer living with both of your parents under one roof, but those are the bonds that some people have. "My parents split, and I felt absolutely halved, though what was left of me was unclear." (Lara Mann, Lines 11 and 12) The speaker feels split because the bonds that she had with her parents have broken and she doesn't know what to do about the situation.

The Censors is a story that shows a personal bond between Juan and his friend Mariana. In the story, Juan decides to send a letter to Mariana, but when he realizes that this could be dangerous for Mariana, he takes it upon himself. "He was about to congratulate himself for having finally discovered his true mission, when his letter to Mariana reached his hands." (Luisa Valenzuela, line 91) In the end Juan ended up dying, but he would have rather than have Mariana. This goes to show the bond they had with each other because Juan gave up his life to let Mariana live
