As my heroine, I chose my mother.
About 18 years ago, my mother had a peaceful birth.
This thing threw her off balance and put a stop to her life for several years.
No one realized she was in such a bad predicament that she couldn't work for several years. (She'd leave early in the morning and return home right away.)
After four years, she became pregnant with my younger brother, and when he was six months old, my father was gravely injured when he fell from a high wall at work. My father was in a rehabilitative hospital for nearly a year and was in a pretty critical condition. Despite this, my mother managed to care for the family and did not let us know how terrible things were for her. My father was still confined to a wheelchair and undergoing extensive rehabilitation when he returned home after a year.
My mother, despite all the pressure and difficulty, raised three children on her own, one of whom was only a year old, and did so valiantly. That is why I adore my mum and consider her to be my hero.

She was the backbone of our family.

I loved and still miss our long conversations, on her balcony, in the kitchen while cooking, and while resting together in her large relaxing bed.

I think I share some of her characteristics but in a more soft and delicate temper, and some of her weaknesses as well such as being too hard on myself.

If I could have talked to her today, I would have stressed once again the warm love and respect I feel for her, and would have thanked her for all the practicalities she had delivered.

I would be happy to tell her I've named my only daughter after her, and that I'm passing on the memory of her heritage.

Her name in Hebrew means "the finest" or "the best land", indeed for me she was the best mother earth.

My memoir is about my mother, she is my model because she had a hard life in her childhood and always stood up and faced it with her face up to the sky, she always reminds me that I should be strong and humble like her no matter what happens in my life. She told me about her facing poverty and her fears of the future, she always keeps her faith and prays to the Lord to make it easy in difficulties. my mother has taught me to never give up and fight for my goals, she always pushes me forward when I am feeling down. She says to me " as I grew up in poor conditions I realized the value of holding on to faith and patience, when she tells me how patient she was I become stronger.

My number one female hero is my mother. Her name is Hanan, it's an Arabic given name which means kindnessss and love. And the first thing came to my mind is to draw some hearts and flowers. Firstly, it's related to the meaning of her name. Secondly, my mom's biggest passion is gardening, planting flowers, nature, pure green and that can tell about her something. My mom has a fascinating personality. She's charismatic, calm, down to earth, wise, majestic, sophisticated woman a true hero in my eyes. My mom grew in a big family, while at her time to get a degree wasn't every girl dream. She chose what she wanted and fought for having it. When she got married, she had a fertility problem. It took her a while until she had us. Knowing that she made her possible to have kids, gives me the feeling that I'm lucky to be that kid. No one met her and didn't fall under her strong personality, I mean, can you expect otherwise from a smart educated woman? I hallow every step she makes, she's everything for me, without her, not only me, but the whole family would had another life turn than what we reached today. I would thank her by not disappointing her wishes, being next to her as she always do for me. I thank God for the bless of having such an amazing person like my mom.

The kindest, most ambitious and selfless female role model I have in my life is my mother. She is the type of person who is filled with positivity and would always look at the good in every person she meets. Growing up, we didn’t have an easy life. However, despite all the difficulties and obstacles we faced as a family she always found a way to make it easier for us. She worked two jobs which made it difficult to see her during the day, but she always made sure we had everything we wanted. She would cook us our favorite meals at night, and check if my sisters and I did our homework. She also made sure we had the right books for the next school day, and if we were lucky and she got back home earlier she would tuck us in and read us stories before we go to sleep. She is my inspiration and the reason I grew up to be the person I am today. She is patient, hardworking, loving and inspiring. She dedicated her own life to my sisters and I and for that I am extremely grateful. She also put her life on a hold just so she can stay with us when we were young and so we can grow up with the best morals. She taught us kindness, patience, the importance of knowledge, and how to have a caring and generous heart. She is always there for us, we found her in my darkest times as well as in my brightest times. When I needed guidance, support and a shoulder to cry on, she was right there, she had my back and most importantly, she never gave up on us even when we made it hard for her.

That’s why I admire my mother’s strength, of course I can’t talk about the hardships I went through from an early age, but all I can say is her strength, experience, patience and kind heart is the reason I am who I am today.

My memoir is my aunt. Years ago when she got married, she did not know that her husband has a brain disease which makes him to be aggressive and hurtful. She did not know that because he was all the time taking a pill to control his behaviors. After their marriage, she discovered that, she did not do anything until it began to be annoying for her and her child. He started to treat her badly, prevent her from many things, hitting her child. Therefore, with the helping of her family, she got divorced. However, the story did not end there because all these bad things affected the child emotionally so she had to take him to a psychologist, he was afraid of everything. Therefore, my aunt did everything in her hands to help her child, she raised him with love, gave him everything he needs, and she worked hard for him to be a successful man with a good life. Indeed, she did it successfully, her son now has his own career and his own family.
I admire her because of everything she had passed, which taught me various lessons, such as to be patient, to have my own degree, to take my rights, and do not give up.

My mother is my hero, which may seem like an obvious answer to you. My mum is one of the most powerful people I've ever witnessed. She forged her own path and worked tirelessly to become the woman she is today. She was born into a large family of eleven siblings. She was the older sister and the third child in her family. Her father was a banker who put forth a lot of effort to educate and raise his children. As a result, my mother began her academic studies at the University of Jurusalem as a social worker. She pity her father for having to teach her and her two elder brothers at the same time. Her father had a heart attack and became paraplegic in her third year. My mother had four small siblings to look after, so she spent her entire life worrying about them. My mother wanted to set a good example for her younger sister, who was in seventh grade and struggling to adjust to life without her father, and she did her best to fill in for him. My aunt is still very close to my mother, and my mother is like a pandora's box to her. To be able to perform these things, I believe you must be strong, patient, robust, and a warrior.

If there were any value in my life, it would be my mom who made my life worth living. I know life was never easy, but the fact that my mom was there made life so much better. She saved me at my lowest, was always there for me, arms open waiting to embrace all of me. She is the only person to accept me with all my flaws, forgive my mistakes, and the only person I will go running to when life is not easy. She is a strong woman who endured a lot. She can make hell feel like heaven. Words are never enough to describe how much I love her. If only I can take all my mom's burdens away, all of her pain and every bad memory she ever had. I would do anything to see her happy and relieved. I would do anything to see her smiling and alive, not just breathing. She deserves to be happy.

This is my grandmother, Iuliana. For me, she is the symbol of a female warrior. She lived during Romania's communist regime led by dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. She told me that in that era, they weren't allowed to read writers who didn't have Ceausescu's approval. They weren't allowed to travel abroad or have friends from abroad. On some days, they weren't allowed to drive. And then there were the food rations. She told me they were not allowed to have more than half a loaf of bread, not too much meat, or sugar, and so on. She was the only daughter left after losing her 7 brothers and sisters as they died in a bomb attack.

She always took care of others and was known for her kind heart. Even if she was short on cash, she would always give what she had to people in need. Additionally, since books weren’t allowed in that era, she would sneak books with her to give to her children since she believed in the power of books and their potential of changing the world.

To me, she was the emblem of resilience, perseverance, endurance, persistence, and benevolence. Sadly, she died of brain cancer, but made sure to always have a smile on her delicate face. She was a warrior who always had a fighting spirit in her. She saw the unknown as a type of stimulus rather than a threat, and once she'd reached her own limitations and comfort zones, the only logical thing to do was to keep going.

For this interesting task, I decided to paint a space scenery. For me, space isn’t stars and galaxies, nor science and math. I have deeper connotations for this outstandingly sublime existence. Thinking about space; I mostly come across the fact of how massive it is. How insignificant we are to it. The resolution I get out of this deep meditation, is that we as humans are temporary in comparison to the somewhat immortal planets and meteoroids. This thinking is positive and motivating rather than pessimistic. It is what pushes me to experience more in life, try out new things. It’s the voice in me that screams:” tomorrow isn’t promised do it now”.

My mother

No one in the world can influence me as my mother does. It's really hard to describe the reason in words, as my words wouldn't be enough. Her name is Nawal, and it means giving and benevolence. She takes every role in my life. She is my mom, my friend , she is my everything. She is the bravest and strongest woman I have ever seen. I have three sisters and two brothers. My two brothers with special needs. My older brother passed away a few years ago due to his deteriorating health. As for my younger brother, he needs great care and attention, as he doesn’t speak or walk, and there is even special equipment to feed him. Although this seems very difficult to deal with as a mother, losing one son and looking after the other 24 hours a day, she is always satisfied and says “Alhamdulillah for everything”. This is just one of the countless reasons why I think this woman is a warrior. Therefore, if you asked me to describe her in three words, I would say that she is my hero, my mentor, my guide in life.

My grandmother has always been my hero. The greatest one at that. She is very kind, thoughtful and very positive. I can say she is actually my very best friend. I have a strong relationship with her. The reason I picked her is that I know what made her the strongest woman I ever knew in my life. To summarize, my grandma did not get to finish her education. She was forced to marry by the age of 17. When she first told me about it, I could see the feeling of regret in her eyes. To be young and forced into adulthood following the old traditions was very normal in the old times. It is very fascinating how she managed to live through all these conditions, and raise the family she is very proud of today. My grandma keeps insisting that I continue my studies and make it my first priority in life. She cares about how I am doing all the time and it just assures me that she is there for me whenever I need her.

The female warrior I decided to write about is my maternal grandmother, Miriam. My relationship with Miriam was never a physical one – we never met in person. Miriam passed away when my mother was 7 years old. Still, she has been a presence in my life for as long as I can remember, like a guide that I can connect with. A guarding angel.

Although we never met, I did get to know a few people who knew the woman Miriam was. It wasn’t until I was in my 20’s that I felt comfortable asking my mother questions about her mother, but before that I learned some details about her personality.

Like myself and my mother, Miriam loved to read. She was curious about the world and had a mind of her own. She was both brave and fearful in life – she was perfectly human. She loved fiercely.

She is my warrior because her strength in life and in death inspires me. Good or bad, she has been with me throughout my life – keeping the cord connected. It’s a kind of consistency that helps me stay true to myself.

My mother gives me whatever I need, such as a telephone, jewelry. Also, my mother supports my choices; she accepts my decisions, and she never objects to them. Even though she has cancer, my mother encourages me to pursue my dreams. Also, she tries her best to be stronger to show that she doesn't feel pain at all.
