The Philippines has a fairly high poverty rate with more than 16% of the population living below the poverty line. Because of the many people reliant on agriculture for an income and inequality in wealth distribution, about 17.6 million Filipinos struggle to afford basic necessities. From 2015 to 2020, the rate of poverty declined from 21.6% to 16.6%. Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte aims to reduce the rate of poverty to 14% by 2022. Through its strategy, AmBisyon 2040, the Philippine government plans to eradicate extreme poverty by 2040. Furthermore, the government has implemented various programs and reforms to reduce poverty by targeting education, healthcare and the overall economy. Here are five ways the program is combating poverty in the Philippines.
POVERTY

1.Our Country (Philippines)
2.Many citizens is involved in this big issue and it will concern everybody in that community.
3.The issue is Poverty,And it will result or impact a lot of things that can happen to the citizens like not being able to eat due to lack of money and food,no shelters that may cause them to die.

The Philippine economy has suffered immensely from the onslaught on jobs by the pandemic. In the two years of Covid-19, millions of workers lost their jobs or were forced to work with a shortened work day or work week with concomitant loss of earnings. The pandemic is definitely not yet over, and the government is just beginning to ease travel and work restrictions.

Possible solutions:
• Provide conditional stimulus grants to small businesses provided that they don’t retrench workers, or commit to rehire them when their businesses pick up.

• Give small businesses access to capital through low-interest loans, which will jumpstart businesses that suffered because of the pandemic.

• Provide a mechanism to match unemployed Filipinos to jobs that are appropriate to their skill level. And if they do not have the skills, the retraining program should open opportunities for learning.
sources used:https://mb.com.ph/2022/01/18/robredo-cites-programs-to-support-msmes-beat-unemployment/
