Ask colleague if they are open to being your mentor and having monthly check ins to offer support. Each month, have conversations about how your teaching is meeting the cultural needs of your students. Identify your strengths and areas for growth in teaching in a culturally responsive manner.          <description><![CDATA[<div>During professional learning committee (PLC) as an English department, engage staff in a discussion about their own personal reading habits. Do they read for fun? Do they read to learn? What type of materials do they read? Write down a list and create a "Staff Reading Bank" of favorite reading materials to share with families and students.&nbsp;<br><br>Have teachers share out what reading materials they used in their class over the school year. Review the effectiveness of lessons and reading materials in the classroom. Encourage each teacher to pick one reading material (shared by another teacher) they have not yet used, and implement a lesson using that material in their classroom.&nbsp;<br><br>Above activities should be done annually in planning for the school year. </div>]]></description>
