He tells Past of how his chilhood was and he talks about his sister. He talks about himself in third person. When he sees himself alone he thinks back to the kid who was singing in his window and said he should like to give him something. These things that Scrooge says is a big difference in himself. He was trapped in his own shadow but once he saw his past he changes, he is able to talk about himself and talk about the people he knew.
