         <description><![CDATA[<pre>Tâche finale : Chapitre 1</pre><div><br></div><div>P: Hello, i’m James, your favourite BBC interviewer.</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp;Today , our quite special guest is a man who endured hardship that we couldn’t even imagine .</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp;His name is Patrick , and he’s one of those courageous guys that crossed the Atlantic Ocean to get a better life.</div><div>Welcome Patrick!</div><div><br></div><div>M:Hello James , and thanks for hosting me on your show.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>P:So ,first of,could you tell us who you are?</div><div><br></div><div>M : So ,as you said , my name is Patrick and I was born 1840 in the province of Dublin.<br><br>P:Right,and for those who have forgotten, at this time it was the great famine in Ireland,<br><br>M:Indeed,and that's why me and my family emigrated to the United States in 1854 ,to escape this misery and get a new life.<br><br>P:And...Could you tell us how you moved from Ireland?<br>Like...Was the boat expensive?Did you bring your possessions ?<br><br>M:I mean...We went to the Dublin's port ,and....That was a real mess there,and we waited one day long to get to a boat.<br>And about our suitcases,we have only put some clothes and&nbsp;<br>some Brooks.&nbsp;<br><br>P :WoW..And do you remember the exact day you left Dublin?<br><br>M : this day was a the beginning of the years, it was in deplorable conditions,it wa<br><br>P : How were the conditions?<br>Did you have enough food ?Where there places dedicated to sleep?<br><br>M:We were crowded in the hold,we were underfed,and we had to sleep on the floor ,and for the lucky ones there were a few wooden berth.<br><br><br>P:Were you sea sicked ?<br><br>M:Hopefully not , but my sister was.<br><br>P:So the conditions aboard were terrible,but what about the arrival on Ellis Island?<br><br>M: With the family, we immediately, had to pass several tests. We had to go through controls to detect all sorts of diseases.</div><div><br></div><div>P: Were toi able to go on?</div><div><br></div><div>M: unfortunately my sister and mother could not go to America,my sister had AIDS and my mother was about to die, it was due to the disastrous conditions of thé crossing it.</div><div><br></div><div>P: What happened next?</div><div><br></div><div>M: I States with my father for a few years. When the situation of life stabilized we went back to Ireland to try to find my mother and my sister</div><div>Unfortunately my sister and my mother died of hunger.<br><br>P:WoW...thanks you for sharing us that story<br><br>M:you’re welcome<br><br></div><div><br><br><br><br></div><div><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
