Spain is a very unique country, being the oldest out of all the Spanish speaking countries, it has a very rich history and culture which means they have many celebrations, holidays, and traditions.

One of the most important holidays is Dia de la Constitución, which is the day that the Spanish constitution was signed. Usually on this day people stay home and celebrate with their families. One of the more religious major events is Semana Santa, on this day people has feasts and celebrate the crucifixion of Christ and his resurrection by parading through town in white cloaks and hats carrying a cross or a statue of Jesus.

Since Spain is a predominantly Catholic country, it means that Christmas is one of the most important holidays. On Christmas one of the most common traditions is attending midnight mass on Christmas eve, before midnight mass people usually eat Christmas dinner, which usually is a 5-course meal comprising of appetizers, a soup course, a course with various small meats and cheese, a main course that is usually cooked lamb or pig with something to compliment it with, like potatoes or other vegetables; various Spanish sweets like marzipan, and a the final course of various Spanish wines.

Spain's holiday season compared to mine is very different. In my household, usually we don't attend mass or any kind of religious activities, which is a big part of Christmas in Spain. In conclusion, Spain is one of the most unique countries in Europe. It is very unique in all of its cultural aspects and has many unique foods and beautiful sights to see.
