Companies like Adobe Connect were being given access to students' cameras, microphones, and HRW codes, which can give them access to personal phone numbers.

The worry is being placed onto teachers, children and classrooms as these actions of tracking, surveillance, and collection of data pose serious harms for all young people but the impact on individual children varies depending on socio-economic background, ethnicity, race, gender and more.

Victorian Education Minister James Merlino is reviewing more in depth the companies that the HRW investigated

HRW found that 89% of educational technology puts children's privacy at risk. SDK was also detected which allowed Google to access data in real-time.
