Darrel slaps PonyBoy across the face and then he finds Johnny and Johnny and him plan to run away.

Johnny almost died because he was jumped, beaten, and cut by the socs. Now is terrified of everything.

At the drive-in, the boys meet Cherry and Marcia.

When going to pick up Two-Bits car at his house, a blue Mustang drives by Cherry and some of the greasers. Her friend Marcia recognize the two Socs in the front seats.

The Mustang passes by again and pulls to the side of the road. Johnny is very pale and gets scared.

The two Socs get out and ask Cherry and Marcia to get in their car. Make fun of the greasers then later get in the car with the socs.

These socs are cherry and Marcia's boyfriends they are in a fight.

Two-bit goes home and Johnny and Pony are together and they fall asleep. They both wake up and Pony realizes that he is going to be in trouble.

Pony leaves Johnny and goes home where Darry is waiting angrily. Pony tells Darry why he is home late but Darry does not care.

Darry gets so mad at Pony he slaps him. Which no one had ever hit him. Pony runs away. Darry screams for him to come back and that he did not mean to.

Pony runs to Johnny and want to run away with him. Although later says he might go back home.

Johnny and Pony go to a park and hangout there and then the blue mustang showed up.

Some Socs came out of the car and bob, one off the socs started drowning ponyboy.

Johnny in order to save ponyboy he killed bob, the Soc. Both of the guys panicked after and ran off to dally for help.

Dally helped then get out of town and helped them hide from the police. They hid in a abandoned church. 

To make sure they were not found they changed their appearance to make sure no one could say that it was Johnny who killed bob.

Ponyboy and Johnny go into the burning church to save the children. Ponyboy and Johnny get injured and Darry comes and was trying to hold back tears because he loved him. Ponyboy feels lucky to have someone how loves him in his life because of this.
