Question: Are identity/cultural struggles in Wasians due to nature or nurture?

Nature: it is a mental struggle due to the fact that they have to balance 2 cultures

There are so many layers to why hip hop was created today. The master narrative of hip hop culture was actually a way to create stereotypes and isolate minority groups, such as Black Americans and Latinos. As a dancer, I did not know hip hop had such a rich history, and I found it very interesting.

How was hip hop used as a movement in the 1970s, and what impacts did it have on society?

Research Question: How does the desi culture compare/different from others? difference between desi culture in America vs South Asia? Where does misinformation come from?

A lot of people would resort to shows when they are bored and oftentimes, they have a huge impact on our childhood. I grew up watching Hong Kong TV shows and I realized the impact of how shows can impact people's attitude towards a topic or help them to reach a goal/dream. There are various genres of Hong Kong TV shows and each show, and has helped people recognize possible future careers/desires. These shows give insight into people's everyday lives which can bring in morals/values.

Questions: Who is your GOAT of basketball and why? What characteristics are necessary in a basketball player to be successful in their career? BJJ is rising in global popularity. People who practice BJJ speak highly of it and credit the martial arts for helping them holistically better themselves.

My research questions will include various aspects of basketball knowledge as well as understanding another person's perspective on their life with basketball.

My goal is to understand if others feel the way I do about basketball and to also see if I could gain any further knowledge or understand a different perspective.

Hawaii has a very large Asian population, specifically Japanese. I am nearly full Japanese and most of my family lives in Hawaii and many of my friends in Hawaii are of Japanese or other Asian decent.

Research Question:

What is the process of immigrating from Japan to Hawaii like?

The impact of your community on your personal development can be profound in the long run. Growing up in the diverse and inclusive environment of Berkeley, CA, which can be described as a melting pot of cultures, fostered a strong sense of acceptance and identity among my family and I. This sense of belonging not only shaped our perspectives, but equipped us with what's necessary to thrive in a constantly changing world.

Research Question: How did the culturally diverse and politically active environment of Berkeley shape the community identity and personal values of its residents?

Questions: How did many Vietnamese immigrants established a community that will continue to support many Vietnamese Americans later on?

Question: Does being a part of the Italian community in the Bay Area improve one's quality of life and or upbringing?

How does housing affect the reality of the American Dream and the immigrant experiences specifically for Filipinos here in the Bay Area, throughout history and today?

Questions: How has the Peruvian community changed over the years? Why did so many Peruvians choose to come to the US through the sheep herding industry? What values did the Peruvian community bring to the US, and did they change? Lastly, what were the troubles that Peruvian immigrats faced coming to the US?

Observations: Baseball is a community like no other. Everyone has similar manners, but no one had the same journey to get to where they're at. I will ask questions about how the community is seen and I will also interview other baseball players to get a different perspective.

Research question- How do you feel judged and mentally drained by the sport. Baseball has a history of mental abuse and can be one of the hardest mental things people do in their life. Do you feel like this has changed in recent years or is it still very tough?

Question: What are some pros and cons for being an student athlete?
