Obstacles she faced along the way was she had to be patient they couldn't just go out and buy a house that simple because they didn't have the money they had to wait until the check came. Another obstacle she faced was seeing how upset Walter her husband was at first because he wanted the money for the liquor store. Her family and upbringing didn't necessarily make it better...the only reason they were able to buy that house is Big Walter had to die so they would get the check. Some obstacles he faced was he didn't have the money and he wanted to get his mother's whole check but she wouldn't give it to him because she doesn't approve of the thought of drinking and liquor. He achieved his goals by breaking the color line (segregation) in the MLB , made MVP , entered the hall of fame and also fought racism at all costs. I truly believe that because sometimes they don't always come from the greatest of backgrounds sometimes that's their fault. Other times that is the best their parents can do and racism is still a big issue some people see it as if your skin color isn't a certain color you shouldn't deserve the same opportunities as everyone else. The speaker/Artist is looking for whatever they feel like they've been missing. I think they want it because they feel like they are missing something & they should face everything in life head first especially obstacles and challenges and not try to put it on the back burner to avoid it. I am from super dark quiet nights with no one outside but nature ,you and your thoughts , the smells of comfort foods and the sounds of my relatives echoing throughout my house. I am from summer time and family cookouts with the smell of grilled and fried foods lingering in the air , sweat glistening across your forehead bees buzzing in your ears, mosquito bites on your legs that drive you beyond crazy. I am from 85 plus degree weather sitting around a fishing pond with my grandpa wearing a bucket hat on swatting bugs and feeling yourself getting darker literally by the minute. Steps I will take to make my dream/dreams come true would be to stop procrastinating so much , push myself more without stressing myself out so much and to always motivate myself to do better , be better and keep pushing regardless of who's trying to push me down. Obstacles I might face is stress , not doing as well as I expect to do in college , paying for college might be an issue but hopefully I can possibly get a scholarship or grants anything would help because college is expensive. Personal issues I might face is STRESS I easily get stressed , feeling overwhelmed , feeling like I need to do better/work harder.
